5 out of 5 starsIt delivered earlier than expected. I saw this print on Pinterest, and I didn’t know it was done by this artist on Etsy. It looks amazing in person. I bought this as a gift for my friend because she loves “The Nightmare Before Christmas” as much as I do. I know she will be obsessed with this!

5 out of 5 starsPeople considering this print, I’ve got to tell you that it is the most beautiful print I have ever received via Etsy. The colors are gorgeous. The details. The shading. Oh my gosh, this made a perfect addition to my gallery wall. Do it! You will not regret it!

Here's my booth set up at one of the many comic cons I go to.
Bringing Pieces From the Dream World to Reality
In middle school I met with a mentor on Wednesday afternoons. He was an older gentleman who looked like he had just stumbled off a pirate ship with a load of art supplies he'd pillaged from the craft store. He introduced me to a particular brand of colored pencils and I became fascinated. I wanted to push them to the limit and make their colors tell stories. I had already loved doodling and his instruction showed me that there was another level to creating art. I devoted myself to studying M.C. Escher, Alphonse Mucha, Norman Rockwell, and Dr. Suess.
After landing my first solo show at the Art Whino gallery in 2009, I have dedicated myself full-time to the creation of whimsical surrealism. I currently tour the comic convention circuit showcasing my work in Artist Alleys around Florida, and participate in gallery exhibits nationwide. I look forward to each experience creating and showing art, as well as meeting and communicating with collectors and appreciators from around the world.
I love when adults say my work makes them feel like kids again, and when children say my work makes them want to grow up to be artists. Bringing both ends of the spectrum together is my portal to the whimsical world. I've struggled with poor eyesight my whole life so as a child I was drawn to contrasting colors. They made images easier for me to decipher and I now use color combinations I've taken from personal experiences.
I've worked with nearly every artistic medium out there and continue to work with paint and ink, but colored pencils are where I feel most at home. It was my wife Rachel who suggested that I try them out on wood because framing under glass is so risky to ship. The basswood I use takes the pencil so well and even shows a tiny bit of grain through the finished pieces. I love the small textures that make each piece even more unique and I now prefer wood to all other substrates.
I hope you connect with my world of whimsy the way I do. I there is a particular piece you would like more information about, or would like to discuss commissioned work, feel free to message me and I will reply right away. God bless!
