Unique, handmade felt and raffia hats; tiny hats in tiny hat boxes; needlelace masks & veils
I was an art major in college (MA in watercolor painting) but it's my raffia hats for which I am known. I sold them at the California Renaissance Pleasure Faire from the mid-70s through the mid-90s. I still attend the faire periodically, usually for only one weekend each of both the northern and southern faire. But you can buy my hats online year round. VAT/GST and customs fees
Note: some countries require custom duty and import VAT, GST, HST or local taxes be paid before you can collect your package. The amount due will be assessed at the point of entry in your country and may result in you having to pay additional charges which are not included in the total price displayed at checkout. Please be aware of your local taxes and import fees before you place your order. I am not responsible for these additional charges.
Custom and personalized orders
The items in my store are what I currently have in stock. I can make custom hats in the colors of your choice or with different flowers or accoutrements. I can make custom shirts with different themed fabrics and buttons. Processing time varies based on the complexity of the hat/shirt in question. Contact me for details.
Sizing details
One size fits most, except where indicated. Most hats include a drawstring for adjustment.
Care instructions
Raffia hats are light, airy and packable. Spray mist with water and mold into the desired shape if they get out of line. Do not bend the brim wire sharply, smooth to shape.
Each Buffalo Hat is unique
No two Buffalo Hats are exactly alike. If you place a custom order, the shape of the new hat may vary from the hat on which it is based (see the two Indian Summer hats listed for an example of this). I work from patterns based on my own designs but they don't always produce identical results.
