About

BuffaloHeart is a way to reduce, reuse, and restyle

BuffaloHeart was created in 2009 as a response to the increasing popularity of recycled and repurposed clothing and housewares. Recycled and reconstructed clothing can indeed be sleek and stylish; it doesn't necessarily have to look like recovered garbage. That's why all BuffaloHeart clothing and home accessories are created with style and attitude--not to mention at least 90% recycled materials.

Materials for the items in our shop come from a variety of sources; the worn-out contents of our closets and our friends' closets, items that have been intercepted on their way to the dumpster, thrift stores, garage sales, and occasionally new materials as needed.

Lindsay designs and creates the clothing, textiles, jewelry, and home accessories, in addition to taking care of the shipping, communications, and most of the photography for the shop. Lindsay's husband Jeremiah makes the skin care products and also acts as photographer from time to time.

Restyle the way you recycle, and remember that BuffaloHeart luvs you.

General info:

Communication is the name of the game with me. I am a human, so if you have a question or a weird circumstance, please contact me and we can figure something out.

ALLERGY INFORMATION: Please be sure to read the materials used in each listing. For jewelry, I use silver toned ear wires and ring bases. Depending on your sensitivity to nickel, you may not want to wear the jewelry for more than 8 consecutive hours. If you are purchasing a textile listing, please note that I have created many items in a pet-free home. I used to have a cat but I no longer have pets in my home, and I clean my creations when they are done. So unless you are ultra-sensitive to pet dander, it shouldn't be a problem. If you have serious pet allergies, contact me when you order and I will deep clean the item for you as best I can.

Accepted payment methods

Payment
If payment is not received at the time the order is made, I will send one notice to you and you will have 24 hours to complete payment. The sale will be canceled and the item will be re-listed in my shop after that. You are welcome to return to my shop and purchase the item if you still want it.
Shipping
Shipping:

Items purchased in the U.S. are shipped via priority or first-class mail, with either package tracking or delivery confirmation. Internationally purchased items are shipped via priority or first class mail as well. BuffaloHeart will not send packages via parcel post, so you can be assured your purchase will arrive safe and sound.

Expedited shipping (e.g. overnight or express) may be accommodated on request, but I need to know in advance of your purchase so I may adjust shipping rates. If you need expedited shipping, please send me a convo with your mailing address so I can calculate postage rates for you.

Packaging:

Fragile items such as delicate jewelry are packaged carefully and marked as fragile before being posted. All other items are wrapped in tissue paper for an extra layer of protection from dust or dirt that might work its way into a package in transit.

All packing materials are recycled, with the exception of the packaging tape. Your package will be hand decorated to revitalize the old packing materials. You are welcome and encouraged to reuse the envelope yourself--reduce, reuse, restyle!
Refunds and Exchanges
Please contact me if you need a refund.

If there is any misrepresentation of the item or damage due to careless packaging, I will fully refund your purchase minus shipping upon the return of the item. Buyer is responsible for return shipping as well. The item must be returned to BuffaloHeart within 14 days of receipt. Please contact BuffaloHeart before returning an item for refund or exchange.

Exchange is also an option once I have received the returned item.

For custom orders, all sales are final--no refunds or exchanges will be given.

If you need an alteration/ repair to an item, and the item was accurately described in the listing, I will have to charge you for additional work on the item. Please send me a message and I will work with you on rates.
Additional policies and FAQs
Custom Requests:

Custom requests can be accepted on a limited basis. Please contact me to find out if I can accommodate your request.

A note on re-creating items: since I use recycled materials it can be difficult for me to exactly reproduce items I have made in the past. Take a look at my sold items and current items in my shop, and if you see something you like, send me a message and we can discuss designing an item that is similar to the original.

If you have an original idea in mind, I will happily work with you on creating the piece, as long as you can keep an open mind as we go. If you have a very specific vision in mind, and if you are very particular about details, you might want to take a look at some other shops. Recycling and designing is an art, and there must be room for the artist to imbue her craft with some degree of creativity.

When a custom order is initiated, I will require a 25% down-payment for the item. This amount will be determined by estimating the final price of the item, but please note that once the item is finished, the final price of the item will be recalculated to reflect the actual cost of materials and time required to create the piece.

Sorry, but BuffaloHeart cannot currently accommodate wholesale pricing and is not participating in consignment (with the exception of brick-and-mortar shops located in Eugene, OR).

Please contact me if you have additional questions. Thanks!
