About

I specialize is customized made-to-order crochet creations.

I'm an Autistic hooker - that is, I am Autistic and I do make things with yarn and crochet hooks- and while I cannot hold a typical job for any length of time, though I have had one in the past, I have taught myself how to crochet, and found out that I have a bit of a knack for it. I'm also a mother of an amazing Autistic boy, and when he was born I thought that I would crochet him some blankets, hats and photo props, as I had previously taught myself how to crochet. It really didn't occur to me at all that I was still a beginner with little experience. But, from that day on, there hasn't been very many days in which I did not pick up my hook, and my craft has become much more refined. I even bartered my crochet for some baby toys when my child was first born.

What led me to venture onto Etsy was the crochet trend that everyone was posting about, the flip-flop slippers. Other hookers reported them being difficult, and not something they wanted to "waste their time on" because the flip-flops always tore on them, and I thought I'd check Etsy, having made a few sets perfectly well myself, and found there were not many other sellers making the popular shoes, as my experience in the crochet world would suggest. I decided that was my sign to join in, and thusly opened my shop here.

Bugzie's Crochet Creations has long been the name I decided to call myself when it came to selling my crochet. My sister, an art major, and a few other people over time, provided me with my own little crochet bug, and I like the alliteration of crochet creations.

Frequently asked questions

Custom and personalized orders

Since the majority of my orders are made-to-order, you absolutely may return your product if you are not happy with it! Please send me a note as to why, before you do so, and if you just want a refund, or alteration, and we can work together to make sure that you are satisfied.

However, I will not accept returns that are not in the condition they are in when they left me. If it shows signs of alteration, or wear, you will not be able to return it for a refund.

My items are made to order, and I send pictures of your individually completed item, so if something is not exactly as you want- please tell me! I am not responsible for alterations that you make after purchase, but I will be happy to alter it for you.

Care instructions

Unless stated otherwise, my products use either acrylic or cotton yarn and are quite easy to care for.

Acrylic, superwash wool, or cotton only: Feel free to put in a normal washing machine and dryer. Of course, allowing it to dry naturally is always better for it, but you will be doing no harm by throwing it in the dryer.

Wool: Hand wash only. Lay flat to dry. Do not agitate.

Flip-flop slippers: There are a little different thanks to the flip-flop sole. You may wash these as instructed, but please do not put in the dryer. Lay them out and let them dry naturally.

Rush orders

If you need your product by a certain date, and that date is at least 5 days away, let me know and I can rush your order for you.

Rushing an order means that I stop whatever project or other order that I may be working on, and start yours immediately when you order it. I will then work only on your product until it is finished, and mail it promptly. Assuming that there are at least 5 days before the date you need it, then I will mail it just like I do any order.

Rush orders add 20% to the cost of the item.

If ordered less than 5 days, and I have said that I can complete the order, then we will also have to rush shipping, which you will be expected to pay the exact cost of the expedited shipping.

Care instructions

If you order something that is made out of Acrylic yarn, make sure not to throw it in the dryer on high heat, do not iron it, and do not wear it our around open flames. Acrylic can and does melt!

Pets

I do have one old cat.

I do my best, inspecting the pieces before they are packed away, to keep my products hair-free, but if you are allergic please add that in the note to seller, so that I can thoroughly clean the product before it is shipped out to you.
