Announcement   Burlesqutie is mainly an in-person business at the moment. We do many craft shows and comic conventions. Check back here for updates on our next show. Hopefully soon we'll get a few things listed. If there is something that you saw at a craft fair that is not listed on my shop, let me know. If it's still available, I will make a custom listing here for you!

I create high quality accessories and crafts that last, such as: fascinators (mini-hats), hair bows, headbands, jewelry, steampunk props, and more. If there is something you are looking for that you don't see in my store, please ask, I can do custom orders. Also, if you see something in the "Sold" section that you really love, I may still have the supplies to make more, so please don't hesitate to ask!

I also have a jewelry and craft supply shop here on Etsy. I use many of the supplies that I sell in my own jewelry making. Have a look:

About

Why did I decide to start selling my creations?

I have always thought about selling my creations, but before I found out about Etsy, there just was no "easy" avenue to give it a try. But how did I end up opening this store? Well, I created a steampunk fascinator to go with my costume for the Renascence festival in Houston, Texas. It had metal gears and feathers and organza and it turned out so cute! The full costume you can see in my picture to the right. Anyways, I wanted to make another fascinator. Then I just kept getting ideas - but I don't even have events to wear ALL these fascinators and somebody suggested that I sell them on Etsy. I said, "well, okay, it's worth a shot"

Now, I have always loved making stuff -- and I say "stuff" because it hasn't always just been one specific thing, it's all sorts of things, from jewelry, to clothing, to hair accessories. As a kid, I was always encouraged to use my creativity. I wrote stories, I learned to sew at about 10 years old, I made mini-magazines before I knew how to use a computer (just using a camera, xerox machine and markers). My grandma taught me how to make hair bows when I was young. I can't really remember a time when I wasn't doing SOMETHING creative (aside from day jobs).

So, upon deciding to make this Etsy store, I have expanded my "craft area" and I am now all stocked up on supplies for most things that I could want to make from an elaborate fascinator to an elegant pair of earrings to some hair bows for a little girl! Whatever you want, I can probably make it! Don't be shy, just ask!

I also have a jewelry and craft supply shop here on Etsy. I use many of the supplies that I sell in my own jewelry making. http://www.etsy.com/shop/QutieSupplies

Shop policies

Burlesqutie always strives for excellence in design and quality of our products. We use the best materials and rarely ever use hot glue - which is why these products will last. Hot glue is a very handy tool, but only for temporary fixes. All of our fascinators, and jewelry are either hand sewn, hand wired or industrial strength glue was used. This is how you know you are getting a great product!

Payment
I prefer that you use Paypal, but if you prefer not to, then you can also use the Etsy credit card payment system. And, of course, if you have an Etsy gift card, we will accept that as well.
Shipping
All packages are sent through the United States Post Office, First Class Mail. If you need Priority Mail or Overnight Mail, then please contact me before purchasing because I will have to change the shipping price to reflect that.

All international customers, you will be responsible for your own duties, taxes and fees associated with importing a package in to your country. If you don't know what these fees are, I suggest you research that before making your purchase because there is no way that I can know the fees and taxes for every country. Also, it is illegal for me to mark your purchase as a "Gift" for customs, so please don't ask me.
Refunds and Exchanges
I try to be as specific as possible when describing and photographing my products, so you get a good idea of the size and materials of the product. If you ever have any questions about the size and materials, please contact me BEFORE purchasing. Since most of my products are ONE OF A KIND, the item in the photograph is the one you will be receiving. There should be no question about the size and there should be no variations of it.

If, for some reason, you receive the item not in one piece (or as it is supposed to be - according to the pictures) please contact me immediately and I will do all I can to get you a replacement. But, as I stated before, all my accessories are made to be sturdy, made to be worn, and only hand stitching and industrial strength glue are used, so this should not be a problem.
Additional policies and FAQs
I will do custom orders, just send me a private convo message and let me know what you had in mind, and I can try to give you a fair price. Sometimes, I may have to scout for a few supplies before I give you a final price, but that all depends on what you have. If you have, let's say, some pieces of old jewelry that you would like me to make into something else - I can do that. You would need to mail me the jewelry pieces and I would need you to sign a waiver saying that you are allowing me to alter these pieces to make something else for you. Now, obviously, I won't obliterate or throw away the pieces - but sometimes a clasp needs to be removed, for example, in order to fit the way that is required for your piece. And I will mail any unused pieces back to you with your final order. If you have any other questions about my custom orders, please, feel free to ask! I'm always here for you!
