I love everything! These are one of a kind beautiful pieces. I've got so many compliments on the earrings & the ornaments match perfectly with my tree. The ornament I took to an ornament exchange party was a huge hit. Thank you!
Burning Fork Studio
I'm Lahla Deakins, artist and owner of Burning Fork Studio LLC in Knoxville, TN. I have always loved making all kinds of art, but when I discovered pottery in college, I knew I had found a medium that I would never be able put down. Since then, I've taken classes, made pots at the kitchen table in my apartment, taken more classes, and now finally, I've started my own business and studio.
I'm drawn to pottery because it's so relatable. We all drink from cups, we eat from plates, we pour liquids from pitchers and stir concoctions in bowls. In fact, people have been using pottery for these purposes, among others, for thousands of years. I'm drawn to the connections between present and past, between maker and consumer, represented by using handmade pottery to carry out our daily routines. I believe that drinking coffee from a cup made by hand, with love and care, can make an otherwise mundane morning feel special. Who doesn't want to start the day like that?
