Announcement   All orders place between July 8 - 23 will be mailed on July 23rd.

Welcome to Burro Mountain Arts!

I have a love of all things southwest. In this shop you'll find jewelry that looks at home in the desert, the mountains for just around town. You'll find jewelry with a Bohemian, natural, rustic or native flair; supplies and even now and then a vintage item.

Please check my shipping policies! I live a half hour from the closest town and post office. As a result, I will ship in one to three days (and on rare occasions longer because of inclement weather) from the time you put in your order.

I love to do custom orders - convo me about details.

For a one time purchase 10% discount, go to my Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/burromtnarts.wetlandtreasures/?ref=hl, click like and find the code under Notes in the left hand column.

Check out my other shop: wetlandtreasures.etsy.com. You'll find jewelry inspired by my other love - the backwaters of Louisiana.

About

A love of the southwest and all things natural

Throughout my life I have had a passion for making and creating things. As a child I hooked rugs, taught myself to crochet, learned to knit among so many other things. My love for creating continued off and on through my younger adult life when there was time to create.

Two things sparked my passion for designing and creating jewelry. The first was a short class on making earrings at a local bead store in Silver City, NM. The second thing was a friend in Louisiana handing me a handful of gar (fish) scales and asking if I could make some earrings for her. Those two experiences and the fact that I had recently retired from my elementary teaching job all ignited that passion!

I've also had a big love for the outdoors. I've spent many hours hiking, biking, backpacking, canoeing and kayaking in many beautiful outdoor spaces.

I hope to bring some of the beauty Mother Nature has provided into my jewelry designs. I also always loved southwest and native designs. Moving to a beautiful spot in the southwest has increased that love.

The jewelry I create is is mainly casual in design. I like to use leather, natural gemstones, and seed beads. I like to create with wire wrapping, my bead loom and through bead weaving. I find my work is continually evolving as I develop my style.

My studio is in the beautiful Burro Mountains just outside of Silver City, NM. I work in a wonderful private space. It's actually our guest house. It's a place I can't wait to get away to. I love to lose myself in creating with so many wonderful materials.

My work table has a wonderful view of the distant mountains and my bird feeders which are constantly full of life. I'm often surprised when I look up to see several deer, javalina or some unusual bird just feet from my window.

Besides selling my jewelry creations here on Etsy, I'm very active in the local arts community. I sell on Saturdays at the local art market. I also sell at local indoor sales and am enjoying selling at statewide rock and gem shows.

I've also started a local Etsy team of Etsy shop owners. It's a great group of entrepreneurs that meet several times a year to support each other and socialize.

Payment
I accept payment from credit cards or Paypal.
Shipping
I want to get your purchase to you as soon as I'm able! But, I have a few reasons that may not always be possible. For one, I live 20 miles from the nearest post office and mail delivery. Because I use 1st class USPS for shipping, all orders will be shipped as soon as possible within 1 to 3 business days. Bad weather may delay shipment as the roads I must travel part of the way are not plowed or may be blocked by intermittent streams! I also travel part of the year via RV and will mail as soon as possible when on the road.

All that said, I will email you as to when I expect to put your purchase in the mail.

If you would like your package to be expedited, please select between the three shipping options available at checkout.

While my shop will usually remain open while I am on vacation, all expedited shipping options will be removed from checkout. I will also clearly state that I am on vacation in my Welcome Message and when you can expect shipment.

>>>>>INTERNATIONAL ORDERS<<<<<
International orders are absolutely welcome. By placing an order from outside the United States, you are accepting full responsibility for customs regulations in your own country, including any local government taxes and/or duties that may apply to importing jewelry. Here is a link that provides some information about importing items from the US: http://pe.usps.com/text/imm/ab_toc.htm. Please contact your local customs department for more specific information, as this link is a general reference and may not always be up to date.

There are two countries that are exceptions to this rule: Brazil and Italy. Customers living in Brazil must be aware of the Red Tide policy that is currently in effect, where some packages are being held in customs for up to 120 days before being delivered. This means I cannot file a claim until after 120 days have passed. As for Italy - the waiting period is 60 days.

Let me know if you have any questions, I will be happy to answer them for you.
Refunds and Exchanges
I stand behind my what I sell. If you have any kind of problem with your purchase, please contact me and I will do my best to correct the problem or I will issue a refund.
Additional policies and FAQs
I love to do custom orders! Please feel free to email me with any questions.
