About

BusyMind Designs

My grandma taught me to sew by hand as a child, making cloth Christmas ornaments that used old pantyhose for stuffing! :) I took a textiles course in high school and began creating costumes for our theater department. I continued with this through college, working for the local Shakespeare festival. After I began knitting in 2005, I made a couple bags for myself. Friends began asking for them, and with their encouragement and support I started my Etsy shop! My bags have been featured on the "Round the Twist With Carin" video podcast, and a modified version served as the goody bags for the first annual Super Summer Knitogether, sponsored by Carin and the Knit Girllls!

Welcome to BusyMind Designs!

This all started when I made a few project bags for door prizes at my knitting guild's annual retreat. The response was overwhelmingly positive, and many people suggested I start making the bags to sell, both within our group and online. Hence, the opening of my little Etsy shop!

Everything is hand-cut and sewn by moi, in my little studio (a.k.a. the extra bedroom). I enjoy searching for fun fabrics and patterns - ones that would make me want to pick up a bag and work on that project! I've been known to spend hours online or in a store perusing fabric selections!
