My first memory is being under a lilac tree, where the air was electric with bee song, in the shadow of a nuclear plant.
A few years later my invisible friend Goby and I called Australia long distance and we got in big trouble.
I nearly drowned when I went swimming in a thunderstorm when I was 9.
During my mid teens I attended a Black Flag gig in Calgary's Thorncliffe Community Center. (I stood far away from the mosh pit.)
In my 20's I got married to Mr.Totally Awesomepants on a high hill while 2 eagles soared above us.
When I was in my 30's I learned that even though I'm blind as a bat I can find a tiny arrowhead at 20 paces.
In my 40th year I went out for a walk that, for no particular reason, turned into a run and I've been running ever since.
From the very beginning I have always been given to flights of fancy.
And from the very beginning I have always made things.
And I still do.
I'm a ACAD grad who married another ACAD grad and together we live an idyllic little life in a tiny little house with a 3 tree apple orchard and a cat named Augustus Elliott.
When I'm not making buttons or paintings, I'm creating amazing vegan meals, running towards the Rocky Mountains and working on our gardens.
It's a good life.
