Hi Tara, I'm so sorry this happened! Yes, it is not meant to be put in the dryer as I say on my tags. The fabric I use is delicate and specifically chosen to ensure that it is breathable and soft for baby and mother. A more sturdy cotton, for example, probably wouldn't tear or shrink much but it tends to keep in heat which is not ideal for Hawaii's hot and humid weather, where I am from. That is how most nursing covers are (which I have used in the past) and is why I started making my own. But I would be more than happy to help you resolve this!
