Birds are among my favorite animals of all time, and drawing these feathered beauties is always glorious fun! The feathers of the Blue Jay are remarkable to me and I couldn't wait to make a pendant highlighting them.
I hope to make one for you!blush
I am putting the finishing touches on a group of hand drawn and painted butterfly wings… these will soon be beautiful earrings. I hope that you are able to grab a pair! blush
Happily carving away today! This is precious metal clay in its "unfired" state ... at this point it's bone dry and a bit fragile, but I can carefully carve my designs into it. Once kiln fired at 1600° it'll be solid, pure silver! It's like magic. smile

About

Nature inspires me to create unique jewelry .... your delight motivates me to bring you the very best.

A passion for jewelry making led me to start "by Myriam - Jewelry Inspired by Nature." As my design style developed, I added my drawings and paintings into the jewelry. Eventually one theme clearly permeated my work: nature ... animals (lots of birds), trees, clouds, even the sea. Now don't get me wrong, I occasionally throw in a few geometric or abstract touches, even a little Steampunk here and there, but at my core I'm a nature-loving girl. Luckily, nature is always in fashion.

Most of my work is labor-intensive in order to showcase color, texture, and often the tiniest of details. Sterling, fine silver, 14kt. gold-filled, and copper are my metals of choice because you deserve versatility and quality. I strive to find just the right beads and natural stones to accent the designs you'll see here. In order to bring you a moment of nature's peace and timeless beauty, every now and then, I'll use actual bits of nature in the jewelry, e.g., dried flowers, a small branch, a tiny shell, and more.

So... browse, shop, and see how my pieces will be the perfect accents for your wardrobe or for someone special in your life.

Your personal jeweler,
Myriam :-)

PS I am always developing new techniques and looking out for new exciting materials so come back often to shop. Feel free to contact me with any questions or custom order ideas ... I'm always here to help. My goal is a happy customer!

Getting my hands dirty is my bliss (no fancy manicure here). The lower level of my SE Michigan home is devoted to art & craft: from mixed-media to woodworking... but all things related to nature & jewelry win out. Nature moves me, so I create :)

Hi! Thank you for coming to shop at "by Myriam". I am a one woman operation, here to create beautiful wearable art for you that is inspired by our amazing natural world. Your total satisfaction is my priority, so let me know how I can be of service.

My promise to you:

As a one person operation, I take extra pride in the quality of the work that I bring to you. Returns and exchanges
If for any reason you are unhappy with your purchase, you may return a piece that is in its original condition within 7 days of receiving it. I will happily refund you the listing price of the item. I am unfortunately unable to refund shipping costs.
Payment
I accept PayPal, Credit Card and Debit Card payments, Apple Pay, Google Wallet, and Etsy Gift Cards.

By the way, you do not need to have a PayPal account in order to use their service. Simply choose Paypal as your payment method when checking out and, when asked to log in, choose "pay with debit or credit card" instead. At that point you can securely enter your credit card information into Paypal for this one purchase (or choose to open an account if you think you'd like one for the future).
Shipping
If you are ordering more than one item from my shop, you only pay for shipping on the first piece… The other items in that order will ship for free! :-)

I currently ship to the US, Canada, and Australia. All items ship via USPS First Class or USPS International First Class and tracking information will be provided to you. [If the destination address is within the US and you would like your package a bit sooner, you can purchase an upgrade to Priority Mail in your cart.]

As the sole designer, creator, packer, shipper, etc., some pieces may take 3 - 5 days to complete and put in the mail. Once your purchase is shipped, it should reach you in 3 - 5 days within the US (or sooner if you choose a shipping upgrade) and within a couple of weeks to Canada and Australia ... but since the USPS is staffed by humans, please allow for the slight possibility that it could take a bit longer. Please time any purchases needed for gifts with that in mind.

Any duties or taxes imposed by the destination country are the sole responsibility of the buyer/customer.

I care about every piece that I ship and will carefully package your shipment to assure its safe arrival. I want you to receive your jewelry in perfect condition but I cannot be held responsible for damage caused by the Post Office. If you notice any issues, resulting from USPS mishandling, once your package arrives, please notify me immediately and I will try my best to make things right.
If the address that you provided for shipping is incorrect, and I ship to that address, please know that I am not able to take responsibility in any way for that error. For that reason I ask that you please carefully verify your shipping address before completing your order.
Additional policies and FAQs
--- "How long will my order take?" :

Your order will ship from my studio in Michigan, United States. Most of my pieces are made to order (unless otherwise specified in the listing), so please allow 3 to 5 days for fabrication. Once made, shipping via USPS is then 3 to 5 days within the US, and can take a couple to a few weeks to international destinations. Of course I will do my very best to make your wait as short as possible. I am just as eager for you to receive my piece as you are!

--- "How do I care for my new jewelry?" :

- STERLING (.925) and FINE (.999) SILVER: It is the nature of silver to oxidize (or tarnish) over time. Some people enjoy the "patina" that develops as it gives the silver an antique "well-loved" look but it may not be the look you are after... or the piece may just look better bright and shiny. If tarnish begins to develop on your silver, it can easily be rubbed off with a jewelry polishing cloth or with dry baking soda. Baking soda will act as a very very mild abrasive, just enough to polish your silver without scratching it.

To prevent oxidation in the future, try to store your jewelry in an airtight container such as a ziplock bag. Without oxygen, silver cannot oxidize :-)

- COPPER: Copper seems to love to patina and it does it fairly quickly (it's hard to keep a shiny new penny shiny for long.) Because of this, after applying any color, or antiquing your copper, I carefully seal it with a highly durable coat of resin. You can be confident in knowing that it will last, and if properly cared for, will maintain your copper's beauty for years to come.

--- "I love your jewelry but my ears are sensitive to metals ... can you help?" :

I use sterling silver and 14 karat gold-filled earwires. You will never find cheap, base metal earwires at this shop! The work that I create is meant to be long-lasting, quality jewelry that one can wear with confidence.

If you have extra sensitive ears and have trouble wearing even sterling, let me know and I will be happy to change out earwires for a pair made of niobium, a physiologically inert and thoroughly hypoallergenic pure metal. There is no cost for this conversion.

--- "Should I leave feedback?" :

Feedback is a very important part of the Etsy experience, and I greatly value yours. I would love it if you would take a minute or two to jot down a couple of words letting me (and others) know about your transaction. It will help me maintain and grow my business (and bring you new designs!)

If for any reason you feel that your transaction with "by Myriam" does not deserve the highest rating in one or more categories, please contact me before leaving negative feedback. My goal is to make you happy with your purchase ... your 100% satisfaction is always paramount.
