Announcement   Mindful designs for the yarn-conscious knitter

.... and naturally dyed yarn! Whilst I'm no longer dyeing seasonal collections, I am still dying yarn! I will have occasional yarn updates where I will list what I have been up to. To make sure that you know when these updates are happening, sign up to my newsletter found on my website. www.byannieclaire.com

Welcome to my shop! Here I share with you everything I love about wool, natural dyes and knitting! I spin and naturally dye organic Californian wool from my dairy farm home in Northern CA. I dye using plants form about my land and nearby roadsides, extracting the pigments they contain to add more life to organic naturally white farm yarn I source from Fulll Belly Farm and the softest of Cormo yarn I source from a farm a few hours east of me.
I do not use plant extracts, I go and harvest the plant itself and so each dye lot can be quite different. Please make sure that you purchase enough for your project!
I came to my organic, naturally dyed yarns out of the desire to become more connected with the yarn I take so much time knitting with, and hope to make this connection available for others too.

Keep up with what I'm working on at the moment on my blog at www.byannieclaire.com.

Thanks for stopping by!

About

Mindful designs for the yarn-conscious knitter

by Annie Claire is… everything by me! Originally from England, I now find myself on the very Northern Coastline of California, where my husband and I are goat dairy farmers. I taught myself how to knit one dark winter living in Finland. It came so easily and naturally it seemed like I knew how to all along [maybe my Grandmother's genes have something to do with that], and I have been knitting ever since.
---
I strive to provide an opportunity for people to connect with where their yarn comes from. By supporting local, small flock farms I hope to help grow the true farm yarn name. Whilst it is no longer a huge part of what I do, I occasionally have available here in my etsy shop some of my naturally dyed yarn. Without the use of chemicals I dye locally sourced wool with the natural pigment found in the plants and flowers about my farm and home.

Whilst I dream of raising my own flock to grow all the wool I could ever need, ultimately, I hope to tighten the gap between pasture and pullover.
