Making Gifts
I got my first sewing machine for Christmas when I was 12. Off and on, I've been sewing ever since. I learned to quilt soon after I moved to Vermont, in 2003. I chose to move to the rural state of Vermont, because I love the wildlife and rivers that dot the landscape everywhere. It's relaxing and inspiring.
I make beautiful, useful objects. I love the softness of quilted fabric. I like to free motion quilt, which is free form sewing to quilt layers of fabric together. I sew subtle designs in the fabric: leaves, flowers, swirls. It's occurred to me that because I make objects that are used as gifts, I make expressions of love. I can't think of anything better.
My favorite fabrics are batiks, bright colors, and nature-inspired prints. I hope you find a treat for yourself or a loved one here.
