Make art about what you love!

I started making digital art of a fandom-y nature in 2012 and put it online for sale via a print-on-demand website the following year. I was astounded at the interest people took and the overwhelming positive feedback really motivated me to continue making more. It was a huge turning point for me as it helped rewrite a lot of what I assumed about myself as an artist.

I've always felt unsure about "my style" and that I didn't actually have one. I'm also not good with traditional media and don't have the same freehand drawing talent others do. After years of working in graphic design trying to match other styles/themes, what I have become good at is colour, texture, light, photomanipulation and mimicking other styles. I may not be able to draw a hot anime babe in a bikini, but I can make your favourite video game character look like an oil-painted French noble from the 1770s. Everyone has their niche and I found mine in utilising my love for art history.

My interest in history, art and the techniques used to bring both together across cultures and the world have always inspired my own pieces and that is something I continue to carry through to a lot of the pieces I make today. My Classical Character Portrait pieces are an obvious outlet for my art history appreciation, but I do make other non-history inspired pieces, too...sometimes.

In 2019, I took the leap and started doing the convention rounds in my area to sell prints and other goodies in person. I had a fantastic time and a lot of success, so my goal is to continue doing conventions and making more types of products as I go.

In the chaos of Covid-19 lockdown of 2020, I decided to take another leap and start my own Etsy store to sell my prints myself as opposed to having my works available on print-on-demand websites. It has been a lot of work and upfront cost, but I love interacting with customers myself: they're all fellow fans and have so much in common with me, I enjoy talking to them and seeing what they like!

Making art, for me, is mostly about interacting with others, and that's exactly why I make fanart versus original pieces. Fanart brings people together under a common interest and solidifies a connection with two strangers over the same thing. Regardless of what your background, race, or other social characteristics are, it doesn't matter when you love the same game, movie, or character.

I'm continuing to make pieces, albeit slowly as I try to get my store up and running and work on other projects here and there. I hope to expand my range of products outside of prints to include things like stickers, pins and other goods in the near future!

Frequently asked questions

Do you do commissions?

Sorry, but I don't offer commissions. These pieces are passion projects!

My order hasn't arrived! When will it be delivered?

If you've ordered an A5 or A4 size print, your parcel won't be eligible for international tracking so waiting for your order to arrive can be worrisome. Due to ongoing disruptions and struggles with international post around the world, some parcels may take an extended period of time to be delivered to your area. But worry not! Please be patient as your parcel makes it way to you, even if it's slow. All but one parcel in my Etsy sales history *has* arrived (the one that got lost somehow didn't even make it across my local area - it's a mystery)! Please feel free to contact me, though, and I can do my best to look into it.

Help! My order arrived damaged. What can I do?

In the best interest of both you & myself, please carefully open & inspect your order AS SOON AS IT ARRIVES to ensure everything is OK! If you aren't available to do so, find a friend or family member who can do it for you. :)

PLEASE BE CAREFUL OPENING YOUR PARCEL. Particularly when opening/removing A3 prints from their tube be gentle as you may bend/crack the edges.

If you believe your order was damaged in transit, please photograph the damaged product(s) + packaging & contact me right away. New Zealand Post requires damage reported with photos WITHIN 10 DAYS OF ARRIVAL (or the latest est arrival date on Etsy - whichever comes first).

Please contact me ASAP and we can discuss the next steps!

The print looks slightly different than it does online!

I try to ensure my listing images are as accurate as possible to represent what the print will look like, but this isn't entirely possible for a number of reasons, including:

- Ink-on-paper always looks different than digital images
- Computer monitors render colours differently based on brand and world location
- Phone screens often artificially enhance colours/contrast of images
- The colours + light in your home/etc will affect the appearance of the print when displayed

I package every order myself and have "approved" of the print I am sending you, so rest assured it is supposed to look like that! :)

I have a non-standard frame. Can you edit/crop the print to fit it?

Send me a message about your custom frame & sizing so we can discuss the best way to fit your print of choice into it perfectly!
