Announcement   bykatedesigns is alive and well and operating as a home business in beautiful Manchester, Vermont! After moving from New Jersey to St. Louis, MO for 4 years, I have moved back east to be closer to my family.

I started bykatedesigns in 2003, and joined Etsy in 2009. I have a degree in Art History, but then went on to study fine art afterward, at The School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. I decided that painting was really my calling! I love to paint in oil, especially landscapes, and moving to Vermont is inspiring me to paint even more! Many of my designs are inspirations from my travels to Italy, France, North Africa, Cape Cod, and more! I love to see how the light is different in these countries, and how it affects one's paintings.

While in St. Louis, I opened a Paint and Sip studio, where I also offered private and group lessons in fine art. It was a lot of fun, and I am continuing to do that here in Vermont, and am selling paintings from my wine and art selections, as well as my own fine art oil paintings, notecards and prints.

Look for new designs in notecards, plus some old standby's, Christmas ornaments, paintings, prints and more, all hand painted by yours truly! Thanks for taking a look!

About

bykatedesigns and how it started

by kate designs started in 2003, as a part-time business out of my home, in Mendham, NJ. I created artwork, primarily paintings, and taught art to adults and children. I also love fabric, and designed handbags, footstools and pillows for a time, and taught sewing and fashion design basics to children.

After a move to the midwest for 4 years, where I continued to paint, and opened a wine and art studio, teaching art to amateurs, I moved back to the east coast, to Vermont, to be closer to my family, and where I continue to enjoy teaching art. I also continue to paint my own original artwork, including landscapes of the beautiful Vermont scenery. So many of my inspirations for my paintings come from my travels to Italy, France, Tunisia, New England, and the midwest and west of the United States. I love to share my experiences with others, and find no better way to do that than by painting!

I re-opened my shop on Etsy, so that I can share my designs with you, in the form of notecards, prints, original paintings, and Christmas ornaments. Feel free to contact me with any questions about my work, I look forward to spending time creating for you!

Manufacturers

  • Picture Salon Printing Service

    Madison, WI, United States

I chose Picture Salon for my printing needs because I love the quality of the papers that they offer for my notecards and prints. I especially like the 80lb watercolor paper, with the deckled edge, which I have not found anywhere else.

  • The Crimson Atelier

    Yardley, PA, United States

They produce very high quality prints on canvas of original artwork. I wanted my work to look professional and have archival quality, which the Crimson Atelier is known for.
