5 out of 5 starsThis is a beautiful and delicate shirt. I like how the airy knit and the linen material go together. As with the other clothes I got from BYYAWorld, the design and handcraft manage to give me an elegant and down-to-earth feeling at the same time. As described the style is oversized: I chose S-M, usually wear EU36 and it fits well: really loose but not as in 'too large'.

-- HISTORY --
Svetlana Yablonskaya, founder and designer of the BYYA brand, has been involved in the art of knitting and sewing since an early age.
After a deep study of techniques, materials and immersion into the culture of handmade clothing, the BYYA brand was born in 2012.
Our first showroom was opened in 2015. Over past years, we have experimented with different trends and styles, including sportswear.
Having undergone various transformations, BYYA has remained true to its *craft-oriented philosophy — customer care, eco-approach and exceptional quality*.
The BYYA’s team origin from Kharkiv, the northeastern Ukrainian city that has been under attack since 24 February 2022.
Due to the war in our country, our artisans dispersed to different regions and countries, saving their lives. Despite the shock of war and the difficulties of adapting in foreign lands, our knitters and sewers continue their work.
BYYA is not just about handmade exclusive clothing. It's about the people who are designing, and making them. And now it's about people who are fighting for their lives and freedom.
--PHILOSOPHY--
BYYA is a brand of exclusive clothing with an accent on craftsmanship and sustainability.
All items are handmade by Ukrainian artisans and are exclusively individual.
--PRODUCTS--
All of our products are handmade, all positions are unique. The most sought-after product categories from the BYYA masters: linen sweaters, muslin dresses and
skirts, cashmere & merino cardigans and sweaters, cotton cardigans, mohair sweaters and cardigans, alpaca sweaters, angora sweaters, linen knitted and muslin tops, straw hats, cashmere & merino hats.
--EXCLUSIVITY--
We create custom-made products according to personal measurements, taking into account the wishes of a particular customer.
We also practice manufacturing clothes by description or photo.
--ECO-FRIENDLINESS --
We stand for slow fashion, nature preservation and recycling of raw materials.
1. In contrast to large factories, BYYA is a fully environmentally friendly handmade production — a minimum of wasted resources.
2. We save electricity and water, all products undergo only 1 cycle of washing.
3. We use runoff raw materials of expensive European brands; in fact, we give a new life to these materials, following the principles of sustainable fashion.
--WEARABILITY--
Thanks to the materials used, the products are wearable for years, which is in line with the trend of eliminating “disposable” items.
With each new wash, and as you wear them, knitted items become softer and more comfortable, and the yarn reveals its properties and becomes even more beautiful.
-- MATERIALS--
In the production of knitwear, we use natural and environmentally friendly fabrics: linen, cotton, and wool of elite varieties, as well as cashmere, silk, merino, alpaca, kidmoher, linen, and bamboo.
All materials are sourced from Italy, India, Peru, and Austria. BYYA also uses stock raw materials from expensive European brands as we stand for nature preservation and recycling of raw materials.
--CHARITY--
By shopping at BYYA, our customers are making an impact. Regularly 5-7% of our net profits go to charitable causes as a helping hand to war-affected families in Ukraine. From each purchase, part of income goes to a charitable program that provides direct financial assistance to Ukrainian families affected by the russian aggression.
--STAY WITH UKRAINE--
The war has shattered the lives of our artisans. But we are still dedicated to our craft and our work, putting all our heart and soul into what we love.
BYYA is currently investing time and effort in international growth and brand presence.
Support us! Stay with Ukraine! 💙💛

Svetlana Yablonskaya
Owner
Welcome to my world of perfect, natural and ECO friendly clothes. Once 6 years ago I'd made for my husband a knitted hat with my own hands and it became a noticeable moment of my life, when my passion changed into lovely business.

I used to teach chemistry at the university. My teaching career ended with the coming of the war. I started knitting because it had been a passion of mine since childhood. Today I'm in the BYYA team — it's a new experience and stage in my life.
-
Vasyl
Owner
At BYYA I'm responsible for business development. The war forced me to take urgent measures to relocate people. Organizing humanitarian aid, finding overseas suppliers, volunteer initiatives — it's just a small list of my new duties in wartime.

I'm a person with disabilities, I stayed in Kharkiv. I suffer a lot because my beloved cat Masyanya died from the bombing. Working at BYYA keeps my spirits up. My work is angora hats, which you can find in the store.

I'm a professional seamstress, technologist, and designer from Kharkiv. Sewing is my passion and vocation. I'm also a single mother. I escaped the war in Lithuania with my 17 y.o. daughter. I'm proud of her as she's studying to be a designer.

Anna
Supply Manager
I stayed in Chuguev. Since there're active military operations, I can't leave the region. Neither stores nor pharmacies work here. I met the war when I was 7 months pregnant. My son Mark was born in May, and today I'm a single mother.

I'm 55 & disabled. Now I'm a refugee in Germany. I lived in Kharkiv on Saltovka, the most destroyed district with a population of 400,000, where there's still shelling. Before my disability, I worked as an accountant. I knit & crochet for BYYA.

I'm still staying in Kharkiv with my dearest cat Murchik. My beloved grandson is now in Poland with his mom. I miss them very much. Working with BYYA team helps me keep my mind busy and away from all this horror happening right behind my window.

We're forced to leave our city because of war. It happened too fast, I didn't even have time to take the knitting needles. We're now in Poland now. I hope we'll be able to return home. And I'll go back to my knitting. Girls, I love you all! Hold on!

Knitting clothes & toys turned in a work of my life. I'm knitting for 45 years. In 2014 my mother town was occupied so I moved to Kharkiv to my son. Since war started here I had to move again. Work helps me stay confident no meter where I'm staying.

Natalia

I always knitted. I was able to contact with high-quality things of such brands as Karl Lagerfeld, Versace, Escada, Valentino, & Sonny Rykiel. I hope to travel a lot more and do a lot of beautiful things made with the soul. I wish all of us peace.
-
Zina
Maker
I continue to work in Poland now. I helped my daughter-in-law & 4 y.o. grandson leave the occupied territory for the Czech Republic. My son stayed in an active combat zone. My work gives me the peace of mind I need & confidence in the future.

Oksana
Maker
I'm 31 and I have two kids. Since my daughter has troubles with health I can't "work normally". However, bills for clinics, tests & medicines need to be paid. Being a part of BYYA allows me that. I love this work. Kharkiv stands & lives.
