Cabin Fever Goods

For as long as I can remember, I've been elbow deep in creating. Photography, screen printing, package design, jewelry making, sculpture, accessories design, candlemaking, and sewing/stitching. I love it all. To have my own shop and offer my own creations didn't seem too far off.

I love that makers can create something with their hands and build a connection with others out there who have a deep love and appreciation for similar things. That's what I strive to do with Cabin Fever Goods. From my hands to yours.

Items eligible for return

I will accept returns for an item if it was delivered damaged. If a return is taking place for this reason, I will cover the cost of having the item sent back to me as well as the cost for shipping the new item to you. However, I will not refund the original shipping cost.

All requests for returns must be made within 7 days of the delivered date obtained from the tracking number on your package. The item being returned must be received in the same condition you have received it (within 14 days) before a refund is issued. You will be refunded the purchase price of the item, minus Etsy and/or PayPal fees.

Custom orders CANNOT be returned. Due to the personalized, made-to-order nature of custom work, I simply cannot accept these items back. The only exception to this rule is if the wrong item was sent to you or there was an error in my design or your stated specifications. If this is the case, please contact me so I can rectify the problem.

Above all, please know that I am a one woman show. I design, handcraft, package, and ship items all on my own. Please be patient as I work to make your item the best that I can so you can enjoy it in your home! :)
Payment
Paying with PayPal

Paying for your order with PayPal is easy. You can pay with an existing account or checkout as a guest with a credit card. When paying with PayPal, please make sure that the shipping address on your Etsy account is correct as that is where your item will ship. I will NOT ship to the address on the PayPal invoice.

Paying with credit card

You can easily pay for your order with a credit card by selecting Direct Checkout on the payment page. Orders will be shipped to the address you select or enter into your account at checkout.

Policies for Custom Orders

I will happily take custom orders (such as larger orders for baby/bridal showers and wedding favors). Feel free to get in touch with any special requests. Please know that all custom orders (of any kind) must be paid for in full before production begins.

Sending an order as a gift

Any order can be sent as a gift, however, please make sure the gift recipient's address is the one listed as the ship to address. If you would like a very specific hand written note to be added to the order, please let me know in the notes to seller box at checkout along with what you would like it to say. If this is not made clear at checkout, a generic "To" and "From" note will be sent.

I use Etsy's shipping labels when sending out all orders. Please be sure that wherever you want your order sent, you make note of it during checkout or make sure it's correct in your account.

If you have any questions or concerns about my payment policies, please feel free to get in touch!
Shipping
Please make sure your shipping address is up to date on your Etsy account. All orders will be shipped to the address on the Etsy invoice. If you're paying with PayPal and the address listed there is different, I will be sending to the address I receive from Etsy. Please be sure to check the address on your account and make sure it's correct.

All orders are shipped from the United States (domestically and internationally) with USPS First-Class or Priority mail, delivery confirmation included. Shipping upgrades are available if you would like to receive your item quicker. You may choose your upgrade during the checkout process.

Orders shipping within the U.S. generally arrive within 3-5 business days (for First-Class Mail) and 2-3 business days (for Priority Mail) from the time the item is shipped. Once the order leaves my hands, please understand that there can be some shipping delays that are out of my control.

Domestic customers: If an item's arrival has been delayed, please get in touch with me. If a week has passed since the delivery date and the package has not been delivered, I will file a claim with the USPS. I will not issue any refunds or replacements until the claim with the USPS is complete OR thirty days of nondelivery has passed from the shipment date (whichever comes first). We all know packages can sometimes slip between the cracks so I like to be extra sure that the package is truly lost. Packages marked as delivered are considered delivered and will not be replaced, refunded, or otherwise justified in favor of the buyer.

Orders shipping internationally have varied estimated arrival times and are determined by destination. Generally, items arrive within two weeks but could be delayed due to customs or the shipping and receiving guidelines of each individual country.

International customers: If an item's arrival has been delayed, please get in touch with me. If three weeks have passed since the delivery date and the package has not been delivered, I will file a claim with the USPS. I will not issue any refunds or replacements until the claim with the USPS is complete OR six weeks of nondelivery has passed from the shipment date (whichever comes first). This is because it can take up to six weeks for international orders to arrive at their destination due to customs and other unforeseen delays. We all know packages can sometimes slip between the cracks so I like to be extra sure that the package is truly lost. Packages marked as delivered are considered delivered and will not be replaced, refunded, or otherwise justified in favor of the buyer.

Should an item, whether from a domestic or international order, arrive damaged, please contact me within 7 days. I may ask for a photo of the damaged item to determine the next steps to rectifying the problem. I want to make sure you're happy with your item and your shopping experience so please get in touch before leaving any feedback.

Any order can be sent as a gift! However, please make sure the gift recipient's address is the one listed as the ship to address. If you would like a very specific hand written note to be added to the order, please let me know in the notes to seller box at checkout along with what you would like it to say. If this is not made clear at checkout, a generic "To" and "From" note will be sent.

As a seller, I am not responsible for any fees your country may charge you to receive your order. Please be aware that some countries charge customs fees and know that you may be charged these fees and they are your responsibility.

CANDLE FAQS

How do I burn my candle for the first time?

For the first burn, trim the wick to ¼” and be sure you have enough time to burn the candle to form a melt pool that reaches to the edge of the container (about 2 - 4 hours). The initial burn is essential to how well your candle burns going forward. Soy-based candles have what’s called “memory burn,” meaning the first melt pool sets the boundaries and scent throw for every burn after that and also helps to avoid tunneling.

How do I burn my candles properly and get the best scent throw?

At the beginning of each burn, trim the wick to ¼” and burn candles for 2 - 4 hours at a time.

What is the average burn time for Cabin Fever Goods candles?

The 10oz. candles burn for an average of 50 - 75 hours. The small tins burn for an average of 15 - 30 hours. The essential oil candles burn for an average of 25 - 40 hours. These averages were calculated from burn tests in which the candles were lit for 2 - 4 hours at a single time then relit for another 2 - 4 hours after the candle wax has had time to harden. If you keep your candles lit all day long, you will burn through them much quicker.

What are some general safety tips to keep in mind when burning candles?

Always burn candles on a heat resistant surface.
Keep wicks trimmed to ¼” to avoid smoking and a flame that is too high.
Discontinue burning a candle when there’s ½” of wax remaining in the container.
Keep candles away from children, pets, drafty areas, and flammable objects (drapes, curtains, carpets, paper, etc.).
Never move a candle while it’s burning or when the wax is melted.
Never leave a burning candle unattended.

How do I repurpose my old candle jars?

Your glass jars can be repurposed as containers for pens, pencils, craft supplies, flowers, etc. To clean out your old candle jars, place them in the freezer to allow the wax to harden. Using a knife, carefully insert it along the edge where the wax meets the container. Sometimes the whole chunk of wax will come out with the base of the wick. If it doesn’t, break the wax into chunks and scrape away excess wax. Soak the inside of the wax container with hot, soapy water and wash away any remaining wax. To remove any remaining residue, wipe the inside of the container with a cotton pad and a little bit of rubbing alcohol. Your jar is ready to be repurposed!

In such cases, I will delete your personal information unless I have compelling and legitimate grounds to continue using that information or if it is needed for legal reasons.
- Complain. If you reside in the EU and wish to raise a concern about my use of your information (and without prejudice to any other rights you may have), you have the right to do so with your local data protection authority.
