CABOOSE Pottery is a line of small batch, handmade ceramics by Sarah Hamelin. Everything is made in my rural Eastern Ontario studio, a converted greenhouse.

I make art with a small footprint. My studio incorporates rain-water, solar energy, reusable and recycled materials to help make pieces that can last thousands of years. A small portion of every sale goes towards supporting wildlife conservation and protection, specifically turtles, birds and butterflies.

If you have any questions or concerns, you can message me on Etsy or send a direct email to info.caboose [!at] gmail.com.

    Owner, Artist, Creator

I strive to create art that always considers form, function and craftsmanship. Clay is my primary vehicle for art making, and a life-long teacher. I work out of a converted greenhouse, making pots with lots of rain water and sunshine!

Frequently asked questions

How do I care for my pottery?

All functional ware is dishwasher and microwave safe, but here are some extra rules of thumb:

Try not to expose ceramic pieces to sudden temperature changes, such as hot to cold. I recommend microwaving food and drink at short intervals to help warm up gradually. Allow casseroles to be at room temperature or preheat in oven before cooking.

Do not place pots with gold-lustre in the microwave.

Handwashing delicate wares, such as teacups, will help prevent potential collisions in the dishwasher.

Are your pieces food safe?

All functional wares are food-safe and tested for durability. All my glazes are lead-free and cadmium-free, and use the FDA and safe drinking water standards in North America.

Works not suitable for food-use will be labeled accordingly, such as the case for all Raku and Smoke-Fired pieces.

Can I order a custom piece?

Unfortunately I don't offer custom orders or commissions.

What are your gift wrapping options?

A personalized card will be included along with a handmade ceramic holiday ornament.

Each individual piece is wrapped in decorative paper overtop of its normal "padding" (newsprint, cardboard supports and bubble-wrap).

Can I make a Wholesale order for my retail store?

I welcome Wholesale inquiries if I think we'd be a good fit! Please e-mail me at info.caboose@gmail.com with your store details and what pieces from my line of work you're interested to carry.
