About

ALL WE KNIT IS LOVE.

Welcome to Cactus and Needle, my knitted and crocheted creations shop. I’m Elisabeth Karaa. Produced with 100% natural yarn, my pieces are inspired by colourful palettes and modern patterns and carefully handmade by me in Paris, France.

I grew up surrounded by crafters who passed down their different passions and skills to me. From handmade jewellery for childhood girlfriends to my own wedding favours and invitations, I believe that there is nothing more fulfilling than using your creativity to make unique products. Cactus and Needle began after a frustrating “can’t find a matching accessory to my outfit” moment. Invited to a wedding in Italy in the spring of 2015, I was hunting down for my husband the perfect bowtie that would exactly match the color of my dress. Unsatisfied with my findings, I decided to knit it instead; this started the makings of Cactus and Needle. I get so excited coming up with new designs, colours and materials that I wish I had 72 hours in a day!

Every piece I make is named after a Phoenician god or goddess, in reference to my Lebanese roots and the Phoenician civilization that was once centered on the coastline of modern Lebanon. You can learn more about the Phoenician religion here: http://www.usc.edu/dept/LAS/arc/profilecoin/html/religion.html.
