This is a beautiful fabric and was shipped out promptly. Lauren, owner of Cactus Penquin, was very considerate, pleasant and efficient. I would certainly recommend shopping at her shop and following her as a favourite. Thanks so much.

About

The Road to Etsy

I've always sewn and then about 17 years ago, I went to my first quilt class. I was hooked! I started taking lots of classes to perfect my quilting, and was sewing every day for hours. I started teaching quilting classes occasionally and working as a bookkeeper at a local quilt store to help support my fabric "habit."

I had given away my quilts to family and friends, and then someone told me about Etsy. They were selling their quilts, knitted goods, lace ornaments and checkbook covers, and encouraged me to do so as well. A shop was born!

From Kay: I have been quilting for over 40 years, and embroidering longer than that (way before we had machines to do it!). I usually want to "tweek" a pattern so it is different than anyone else's. If I can't find a pattern I like, I end up designing one. I love color, bright fabrics (I only use quilt store cotton) and will often piece a backing with coordinating fabrics so it looks good if you flip a corner up. I make everything from placemats to king size quilts...lap quilts, table runners that you can put a hot dish on, wall hangings that are all done with embroidery. If there is something you would like to see, please let me know.
