Welcome to Caelo's Creations, a shop dedicated to handmade, natural, Waldorf-inspired toys and crafts. Here in the Appalachian Mountains of Georgia, I handcraft each and every item that I make, because I believe that children should have the joy of natural, handmade toys. Cheap, synthetic plastic can't hold a candle to the quality of a handmade toy!
I hope to send the message of healthy eating habits with the felt food sets I make, and to inspire creative play and social activity with the toys found here. Many of the toys are developed to foster imagination and sociodramatical play, which is the hallmark of any child's playtime.
The shop's name is dedicated to my late cat Caelo. My family found Caelo and his brothers Goldie and Pickles in the woods one day, just teeny-tiny kittens with no momma cat around. Although in the end we were too late to save Caelo and Goldie, we fondly remember them now as our "angels". I hope to honor their memory by creating handmade toys and crafts for children, with a few things thrown in for mommy and the home.
I have chosen to work with wool blend felt because it makes for a more durable, long-lasting toy, as it does not pill and fuzz like acrylic felt. . Most handmade toys are entirely hand-stitched and cut, although for larger felt pieces and bags I use my sewing machine for extra durability and strength.
I love to dabble in embroidery whenever I can, which is a favorite hobby of mine. I've also recently learned knitting and crochet. Occasionally I'll put up things that have been knitted or crocheted, such as mice cat toys and chickens, but the bulk of my items will be sewn, either by machine or by hand.
Check in often, as some things I make will be limited in production and/or seasonal. If you'd like a product that was listed before, just convo me and I'll see what I can do. At the moment I do not take wholesale orders, as I am a one-girl operation and full-time student. Thanks for dropping by!

I accept payment through Paypal, the most widely used online payment processor. Payment must clear before I can ship your item out, preferably within 3 business days. I will contact you if payment is not made within this time, through a conversation on Etsy. If you need additional time, please contact me.

Shipping
I ship both domestic and international orders via USPS First Class Mail. Larger orders will ship via Priority Mail. However, if you want you would like your items faster, such as for a birthday, you may request $5 flat rate USPS Priority Mail shipping in "message to seller" during checkout (domestically only).
International buyers will be responsible for any taxes, additional fees, and/or additional costs that are imposed by their country. Please remember that when shipping internationally, delivery will take longer, and if you would like your items quicker, just contact me. I would be happy to work out a solution that works for both of us.
Orders, once completed, will usually be processed and shipped the following business day, omitting weekends and holidays. Please note that some items are MADE TO ORDER, and turnaround time will be specified in the item listing. If I'm back-logged or swamped with orders, I'll convo you to let you know when I expect to get your order done.
Orders around holidays should be placed in advance, given the mad-rush that usually occurs before Christmas. In addition, I cannot guarantee that items will reach you before Christmas if time is short, as the time of delivery is in the hands of the Post Office once I have shipped your order.

Due to the nature of online buying, you really have to "visualize" the finished product, as you cannot feel it or see it in person. I accept most non-used items within 14 days, so long as they have not been washed or damaged. I cannot accept used items (such as hats, scarves, or cat toys). Return shipping costs must be paid by the buyer for a full refund (minus the shipping cost).
Please remember that handmade items will vary from piece to piece, and each one will be slightly different. I cannot accept returns on handmade items unless the product is somehow considered defective, because that is the nature of handmade objects: each one is unique. I can, however, take custom orders, but please note that factors such as cost and labor involved may hinder my decision to accept. Please note that MADE-TO-ORDER orders are worked on in the order they come in, on a first-come first-serve basis. Please take this into consideration if you are ordering for a holiday or other special event.
If you'd like to customize colors on a particular felt set, just let me know what you'd like in the "message to seller" box at checkout. If you'd like a custom-made bag with a certain print or color scheme, just let me know and we'll work something out. I can also customize holiday banners, such as swapping "faithful" for "thankful".
