About

One of a kind cross stitch art and patterns, usually inspired by coffee.

Howdy! I'm Kelsey, the namesake behind this shop. I'm a 25-year-old nonprofit worker living in Chicago, IL. I love coffee, true crime, my cat, and (of course) cross stitching!

I've been craft obsessed since I was a tiny tot. My need to create was so bad that my family called my "McGyver" as a child. If there was an almost-empty toilet paper roll in the house, I was usually right there waiting to snatch it up, color on it and turn it in to a telescope, a cell phone, or cardboard jewelry. I think I was just born with that "I can make that" attitude.

I began my "professional" creative journey by starting my lifestyle blog in 2014. I had just graduated college and was really bored while I worked on a summer internship. Thus, CandidlyKelseyBlog.com was born! Fast forward a few years of blogging about make-up, life, humorous observations about life, some DIY and more, I decided that it was now or never to finally commit to my dream: starting a creative goods business. This year I discovered a love for cross stitching and creating cross stitch patterns, and wanted to share them. Thus, CandidlyKelsey was born! I hope you enjoy my shop and products as much as I love making them.

xo,
Kelsey

  • Kelsey

    Owner

Kelsey is the brains, hands, and coffee drinker behind the shop. She works for a nonprofit doing marketing and fundraising by day, and spends all night cross stitching and blogging. When she's not working (which is always), is also a fan of brunch.

  • Gracie

    COO (Cat Operations Officer)

Gracie joined the team in 2014. She came to us with no work experience, having only previously worked on the streets (it was a rough time). She not only provides insightful design expertise, but is also in charge of the snacks and nap department.
