Very easy to read but I would not suggest the magic maker bc it made the hat smell a little unbearable.

Putting A.R.T. into C.R.A.F.T one stitch at a time...

One hot, summer afternoon as a child, while cooling off in the DIY section of our local library a picture on the cover of a book caught my eye. It displayed a beautifully colored, classic granny square afghan draped over a wooden chair. I checked the book out, went home to pull out the old, bent crochet hook I had snagged from an elderly lady’s garage sale weeks earlier. My hands got to work. I stitched day and night for months learning how to hold the yarn and work it into a blanket. At last the afghan was complete early on Christmas morning after secretly sneaking in the last stitches past bedtime. My mom loved it and I was hooked. That self-taught afghan at age 8 was the seed for Candypop Creations.

Candypop Creations is a growing collection of crochet patterns based on ideas and inspirations I’ve imagined over the years. I am meticulous in the craftsmanship of my work and release patterns only after much refinement. My studio is host to books, journals and scraps of paper with hundreds of ideas just waiting to be created!

I hope to bring some contemporary flare and art into an age-old craft and draw in crochet crafters across the generations. It’s a fun challenge to create items that anyone can have a story about. Incandescent light bulb- a reminder of a great idea you once had, a symbol of passing time and forward-moving technology? Femur bone- Fun for your Fido, a Halloween scare? Who doesn’t have a story about a hamburger? And the beanies? Well, I like to think they bring some fun to a world that can get pretty serious sometimes.

I hope you’ll take a moment to browse through the patterns I’ve created and maybe even be inspired to try your hand at one even if you’ve never picked up a hook before. What story will your creation tell?
