All items are available for local pickup. Please convo me before checking out and I will remove the shipping charges. I offer free delivery on furniture pieces within 30 miles of zip code 02645. I can also meet you at the Sagamore or Bourne Bridge at no charge. This applies to furniture only, unless noted. I am happy to discuss shipping charges for other areas of Massachusetts and Rhode Island that would be less than freight shipping.

Furniture delivery that does not show a shipping charge must be arranged before checking out. SHIPPING IS NOT FREE! The buyer must arrange their own freight shipments. I can assist with the process, but you are responsible for making the initial contact and paying the shipper directly.

Mid Century Modern and Vintage on Cape Cod

Cape Cod Modern is operated by a husband and wife team on beautiful Cape Cod in Massachusetts. I'm Wendy - the one you speak to when you contact the shop. I do all of the listing and customer follow up. My husband, Richard, does most of the treasure hunting, photography and all of the shipping.

In the fall of 2014, we began a simple home redecorating project, which quickly snowballed into a huge collection...way more than we needed for our own home. We just found ourselves unable to pass up all the incredible mid century modern and other vintage items we were finding! Not to mention all the fun we were having! We decided to open up our Etsy shop in January of 2015 as a way to thin out our collection while justifying buying even more great stuff.

We hope you enjoy all of the great mid century and vintage treasures we have to offer! We pick only the items we would be proud to display in our own home and we strive to keep our prices affordable. If there is something special you are looking for, send me a message...I always have a backlog of items to list and I just may have what you have been dreaming about!

Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:
  • Custom or personalized orders

Returns and exchange details
Your satisfaction is important to me. I am happy to provide extra pictures for any item upon request. All items are sold AS IS. I am not an expert in antiques or vintage items, but I do research each item carefully. I describe all items and their flaws the best I can. Most items I sell are used, vintage items and flaws are to be expected. Dents, scratches, dings, scuffs, tears, smudges, etc are to be expected and will be disclosed / photographed to the best of my ability. Most items have come from estate sales, garage sales, flea markets and the like, therefore I can not promise an item has come from a smoke free or pet free environment. We do not smoke and all items, once purchased, are stored in a smoke and pet free environment.

If you are unhappy with your purchase, please contact me within 3 days of receipt of your item to discuss a return. EU buyers have 14 days in which to contact me for a return. If you would like to return an item, please send me a convo through Etsy’s conversation messaging system. Items returned without consent are considered a forced return and are not eligible for refund.

A full refund of the item's purchase price will be given - less shipping - when item is returned in the condition it was received - smoke free, clean and free from damage not noted in original listing. Returns must include tracking information and must be shipped within 14 days of receipt; EU buyers have up to 30 days in which to ship their order back.

Please pack your items for return very carefully. Items returned in condition other than as received will be ineligible for refund. If an item is damaged in return, please contact your shipper to file a claim. I will provide you with the photos of the damage, including the product, packaging used and box.

Note: all furniture sales are final, sold as-is with no returns. Once arrangement have been made with a shipper, furniture purchases may not be cancelled or refunded. Furniture is sold to US addresses only, unless noted.

Orders will be shipped to the address you have on file with Etsy/Paypal. Please check it prior to submitting an order! Any item returned to me due to an incorrect or incomplete address will result in additional shipping charges, which will be the responsibility of the buyer.
Payment
We accept credit cards through Etsy or Paypal, as well as Etsy Gift Cards.

I can reserve an item for a few days if you are trying to make shipping arrangements or if you are waiting for a shipping quote from me, just ask.

I am required to collect 6.25% sales tax on all items shipped to addresses in Massachusetts. Tax will also be collected on items purchased in-person in my shop.

I welcome international orders! Please contact me for information. ****Any customs fees, taxes, tariffs, duties, etc. that may be incurred at the time of delivery would be at the discretion of your country's tax regulations. For any additional information refer to your local customs agency. Items returned for non-payment of customs fees will be refunded less shipping costs. Items can not be marked as gifts- as it is illegal and subject to large fines to do so. I am also unable to report anything less than the full retail price paid per item on customs forms. Your order is subject to cancellation if you ask me to violate the law by reporting incorrect/false information on customs forms.

Shipping
I primarily use USPS and FedEx for shipping. All fragile items will be shipped with insurance and I will provide you with a tracking number. If you would like a different shipper used, expedited shipping etc., please notify me in advance, extra charges may apply. I am always happy to combine shipping to save you money, just let me know before you check out and I can give you a better estimate. If you would like me to double check actual shipping charges before ordering, message me your zip code. Packages shipped to Alaska and Hawaii may incur additional shipping charges.

If your item shipped by USPS or FedEx is damaged in transit, you must let me know within 3 days of delivery. Please provide me with clear photos showing the damage, photos of the box, and photos of the packing material. I will file an insurance claim. All damaged items, boxes, and packing materials must be retained until the insurance claim is complete. An inspection of damage may be requested by the insurance provider to complete the claim. No refunds will be given until all photos requested are sent by the buyer and the insurance claim process is complete. Depending upon the circumstances, you may be asked to verify the damage by following a link provided by the insurance company. If you are unable or unwilling to complete the insurance process, no refund will be given.

I aim to ship your item out within two or three business days, but occasionally I may request an extra day or two if I have to hunt down or build a large box. I'll let you know if that is the case.

I use recycled boxes and packing materials for my shipping. If you would prefer a new box or fancy packaging, extra charges may apply.

I am not responsible for shipping delays or lost or stolen packages. Once an item is marked delivered by USPS or FedEx tracking, it will become your responsibility to contact USPS or FedEx if your package is missing.
In the rare event of a package lost in transit, I will file an insurance claim on your behalf. If USPS/FedEx agrees that the package is indeed lost, I will issue you a free refund. You may be asked by to verify the package as missing by following a link provided by the insurance company. No refunds will be given until the process is completed.

*SHIPPING IS NOT FREE, even when shipping charges show as $0.00. This is because shipping varies widely from area to area. I need your zip code to provide you with a quote.

For furniture shipments, I ask the buyer to choose and pay for their shipper on their own. I can help and coordinate, but you are responsible for the initial arrangements and payment. I take no responsibility for any item shipped by any freight service. I can provide you with names and websites other buyers have used and been happy with, but I cannot personally endorse any particular company. Packing must be done by the freight company in order to have the shipment insured. Furniture will be accessible in an area with no stairs. My zip code is 02645.

I can reserve an item for up to 3 days while you are waiting for a freight quote. If I am providing you with a FedEx or USPS quote, I will, under most circumstances get back to you with the quote within 24 hours. Once I have provided you with your quote, your reserve will expire after 24 hours if I have not heard back from you. No reserves will be for longer than 3 days unless previously arranged. Please ask if you want an item reserved. I will not automatically assume you want me to. I give many quotes daily, often for the same item.

Greyhound shipping is currently not available.

If you are local to Cape Cod or the Boston area, I can provide FREE LOCAL delivery for FURNITURE items, up to 30 miles from zip code 02645. I am also willing to meet at either the Sagamore Bridge or the Bourne Bridge if you are driving from off Cape to shorten your trip. Please don't ask me to drive any further than 30 miles for free. This service is for furniture only.

If you are further than 30 miles, but within a few hundred miles, ask me about shipping charges. If you are not too far away, we can possibly work something out that would be less expensive than freight shipping.

You are also welcome to pick the item up locally at no charge of course!

I need to arrange for freight shipping, will you hold an item for me?

I am happy to reserve an item for up to 3 days while you arrange for freight shipment. After 3 days, if I haven't heard back from you, I will remove the hold and place the item back up for sale. Communication is important. If you need longer than 3 days, just let me know and I'd be happy to extend the reserve for another 3 days.

Shipping says free. Is that right?

No, shipping is never free.
For furniture shipments, I ask the buyer to choose a fright company for shipment and pay them directly for delivery. I take no responsibility for any item shipped by any freight service. I am happy to work with the shipper of your choice and help coordinate delivery to you.

Do you offer delivery locally or allow for local pickup?

Yes!
Please contact me if you live locally. For furniture pieces, I can offer free delivery up to 30 miles of zip code 02645. I am also willing to meet at either the Bourne or Sagamore Bridge at no charge. This applies to furniture pieces only. Delivery or meeting up further than 30 miles may be possible for a fee. Do you offer shipping via Greyhound?

Sorry, Greyhound shipping is currently unavailable. I am hopeful to offer this service again in the future, but for now, my local station has discontinued the service.
