By a Stitcher, For Stitchers

In my shop, you will find small, easy cross stitch patterns for beginners, as well as more complicated designs for advanced stitchers. I've been a cross stitcher for 30 years now. Even before cross stitch software, I created my own designs when I couldn't find what I wanted.

How do I create my designs?
I use different methods depending on what I wish to accomplish. I draw designs by hand, use Photoshop to create graphics and text, or create directly with my cross stitch software. I sometimes incorporate vintage graphics into my designs. I carefully edit these elements until I get the look I want. This sometimes takes hours. I think carefully about the colour palette and placement of each stitch. I'm particular about quality and work hard to make my creations reflect that. When I cook up a design, I stitch it myself. I make changes as I go until I am completely satisfied with the result.

If you're a fellow stitcher, I hope you find something you'd love to make here. And if you are just thinking about trying out cross stitch, you should! It's a fun hobby!

Frequently asked questions
Can you make me the finished cross stitch piece?

At this time, no. I'm presently creating and stitching new cross stitch patterns for my shop. Cross stitch is an easy to learn hobby and I think if you give it a try, you would enjoy it!

What are General Tips and Instructions? Will they tell me how to cross stitch?

No, they are just helpful tips for completing your cross stitch that I couldn't include in the pattern itself. If you are a beginner or new to cross stitch, there are many tutorials and classes available online, often for free. I also have one complete beginner pattern with detailed instructions: Spruce Tree Pattern https://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/23023829/spruce-tree-counted-cross-stitch-pattern

Follow my Pinterest page "Cross Stitch Tips" (link at the bottom of my About page) where I pin tutorials from cross stitching experts.

If you need something in the instructions clarified, please contact me.

Can I buy a printed version of the pdf?

Not at the present time. All patterns are pdfs. If you cannot print out your pattern at home, you can send your files to a local print shop.

How do I access my pdf pattern?

Once payment is processed by Etsy, you will receive an email from Etsy with instructions on how to access your files. You will also be able to access them under your "Purchases and Reviews" page in the drop down menu under your Etsy profile. (More info here: https://www.etsy.com/ca/help/article/3949 )

Click the Download button next to your purchase. (Do NOT try to download your files on a phone.) Save your files to your computer if not saved automatically. Please know where your computer saves downloads. In Google Chrome you can find where your downloads were saved on the far right of your menu bar (3 dots).

The files are pdfs. You will need a pdf reader like Acrobat Reader to open them, available for free online.
