Announcement    Capriola has been gradually simplifying shop — it’s been a lovely 10 years of crafting all different kinds of skin care and offering them here but my intention for this Etsy shop was never to expand, only to have fun creating -- I’m ready to simplify life. If you have been one of my longtime customers and do not see your favorite product in the shop anymore, send me a message and perhaps I can make some special for you! 🙂 ~Olivia

My products are not intended to last indefinitely as drugstore skincare often does; please enjoy 'em or toss 'em within 6 months of purchase!

Every product in my shop is something I love to use regularly on my own skin and hair. A simple, “minimalist” skincare routine is most appealing to me and this is reflected in the products available here. Some formulas are limited edition and only available during certain times or by special request.

Be good to your skin! It does a lot for you!

Thank you so much and feel free to convo with any questions! Have a happy day! ~ Olivia

Testing out some new paperboard packaging that is entirely compostable and so much better for our environment than plastics! I’m hoping it works well for the vitamin C serums and oil cleansing balms! We shall see!

Luxury Goat Milk Bath and Beauty Goodies Crafted Fresh with Loving Hands

It all started with two cute bottle baby Pygmy goats joining our family in March of 2005. Our little urban farm in Portland, Oregon was the home of those two original goats (Rosie and Daisy) until they passed away from happy, old age. For about 6 years, we enjoyed raising sweet baby goats (Pygmy and Nigerian Dwarf) and adopting them to wonderful families.

I loved being with the goats and trained them for milking, but was never a big milk drinker, so in 2006, I decided to try my hand at goat's milk soap. The first batch was made -- and boy, did it take FOREVER and a day to trace! (That can be normal by the way. 😉) Despite the lengthy process, this did begin an obsession for goat's milk bath and body products! Once you try them, you will understand why!

Three years later, in 2009, the very first batch of goat's milk lotion was created. I was so excited with my ingredients: Shea Butter, Coconut, and Olive Oil with pure Goat Milk. The end result was so very disappointing! Grainy, thick, and far too greasy. So.... countless hours of research went into figuring out just what went wrong and striving to perfect it.

No longer raising goats means no longer having access to my own goat milk. The milk I now purchase for use in my products comes from a happy farm in Washington, made by goats allowed to roam on beautiful green pasture, absolutely no chemicals or GMO ingredients in their diet.

Creating Goat's Milk products is a small hobby which I enjoy. It helps support my unpaid volunteering as a mentor and Bible educator in the Deaf community.

In 2019, I look forward to minimizing packaging and offering more zero-waste and anhydrous formulas. Stay tuned!

  • Rosie My Luv

Our First Goat, A Sweet Memory

Rosie was purchased in March '05, at one week old. She was a bottle-fed baby, our 1st goat, a sweet pet! Rosie gave birth to four sweet babies and then enjoyed a life of sweet retirement until summer 2015 when she passed away. She is missed!

  • Daisy Mae

    A Sweet Memory

Daisy Mae arrived in March '05 shortly after Rosie. She was a very sweet, rather impatient little goat. Ever ready to take her “goat vitamins” she lived to the rich old age of 13 years! Photo is Daisy with one of her girls.

Thank you for visiting my Etsy store. I enjoy creating bath and beauty products that are nourishing to the body and good to our environment.

In striving to be a good steward of the earth (and a recycling-obsessed Oregonian! cue the Portlandia skit 😁) when packaging orders, I re-use/repurpose shipping boxes, padded envelopes, bubble wrapping, etc. Don’t be too surprised if your order arrives in a repurposed Amazon padded envelope! :P

• If you decide to purchase items from my shop, please remember that ALL of them are handmade and very slight differences between batches are fairly common.
Also, keep in mind that with handmade soap, there are NO HARSH DETERGENTS (this is good! 😉) but also means there may not be the same lather you are accustomed to if recently switching over from commercial soaps.

Many thanks for supporting small Etsy shops and considering my Goat Milk skin care and makeup line in your quest for living a little more safely!

Frequently asked questions
What is the shelf life of this product?

You can expect my organically preserved creams and soaps to last 4-6+ months when stored in a cool, dark place, in an airtight and waterproof container. Remember to use only clean fingers when dipping into your jar!

Can this product be customized?

Yes! I am happy to custom create soap, lotion, creams, makeup, hair conditioners, etc. There is a minimum order of $30 — though I am happy to waive this for my regular customers.

What makes your products different?

In lieu of water, I choose organic Aloe Vera juice and pure Goat Milk from happy goats. Rich herbal infusions make an appearance in several creams and soaps. These ingredients make for a superior product that does much good for the skin!

Can I use this on my face?

Our skin is so unique and special! Try a sample first and do a small patch test before committing to full size. For sensitive skin, opt for unscented.

Bulk buy + refills

If you decide to purchase in bulk, your order will be sent without jars saving you some green (and keeping the earth a little more green!)

Ready your own jars or bottles and caps by sterilizing first using boiling water (or a 70/30 blend of alcohol and water). Allow containers to dry thoroughly. Nip off a small corner of your lotion bag and squeeze product into your containers. Cap immediately, label with the expiration date, and store in a cool, dry place.

Do your products have SPF?

No. I do not formulate for sun protection. Please use a lab-tested sunscreen able to block out both UVA and UVB rays.
