Announcement   Getting crafting space renovated - new styles coming soon ---- From classy to whimsical these handcrafted cardigan clips, also know as sweater clips or sweater guards, will keep your cardigan in-line and you in-style.

Creating handmade cardiclips came about from my own need for a useful accessory. I own a lot of cardigans and shrugs and I feel a little sad when they slip off my shoulders or fly open whilst busting a move at the discothèque or running to save a small animal. I make a couple of different types of cardiclips or sweater clips :

... I make the original incarnation of sweater-clips, worn by those sock-hopping 50's sweethearts. These can be used to keep your sweater neatly draped over your shoulders between classes in case of a sudden chill or also just to hold your cardi loosely closed, adding that air of sophistication or whimsy.

...I also make an adaption of these of my own invention, the fixed-width cardi-clip. These are the ones to use to cinch in the fabric on your shrug or wrap (which inherently have no closures) or maybe even your favorite cardi that is a little on small or on the tight side. The fixed-width will keep your garment flatteringly snug and pulled together showing off your lovely curvy figure and keeping you stylishly put together.

About

functional and beautiful .... no, not me silly!

Having grown up in a creative household of teachers / artists / gourmet wizards and fashionistas (I know that sounds like I lived in a some magical hotel of awesomeness but it was really just my mum, dad and sister) I was exposed to the wonderful world of handcrafting and construction from a very early age. I have always found joy in making things with my own hands and welcome the challenge of trying to come up with a creative solution to a problem whenever posible.

THE FIXED-WIDTH CARDICLIP
I love the idea of useful accessories: items that not only add an aesthetic enhancement to your ensemble but also have a function to help you achieve a desired look - this was the driving force behind my creation of the "fixed-width cardiclip".

Imagine if you will ...
You are having a titanic moment. Arms in the air, salty sea air riffling through your wavy auburn hair, but alas, all your partner is experiencing is a face full of unrestrained sweater-wrap. It is no longer hugging your curves but is wildly whipping about in the wind with shameful abandonment .. what a mood breaker. Upon attaching the cardiclip to your flailing wrap it's efforts to get away are calmed and the strong embrace from your partner is reafirmed, allowing you (and others) to enjoy the moment. Sail-on fearless adventurer.

THE TRADITIONAL CARDICLIP
I also cherish the original incarnation of the sweater clip, primarily used as a fashion accessory in the 50's and 60's.

Imagine if you will ...
Coming inside from Autumn's chill you swoosh your cardigan over your shoulders as you sit down to type out the last chapter of your latest sci-fi novel on your Remington Noiseless. Your twinkling cardigan clip sits quietly across your neckline, allowing you to relax in the knowledge that your cardigan is safely and stylishly secured, accessible at a moments notice if a sudden breeze should happen upon you. Type-on visionary wordsmith.

I enjoy the creative process of coming up with new ways to make this adornment accessible to wearers today with the use of fabric flowers, sparkly eye catchers and other bling to brighten your day.

Shop policies

Hello lovelies!

Please take a moment to look over my policies and the FAQ for good information that you can use in your purchasing decision.

Please keep in mind that all my goods are handmade so each item is unique and no two items are exactly alike ... this is a good thing :)

Accepted payment methods

  • Pay with Visa
  • Pay with Master Card
  • Pay with American Express
  • Pay with Discover
  • Pay with PayPal
Payment
I accept PayPal only. Payment is due within 4 days of the time of purchase. After the 4 days I will send you a little nudge convo to remind you :)
Shipping
I am shipping from California, USA

U.S. and INTERNATIONAL ORDERS
I ship to the address you provide through PayPal so please let me know in the notes to seller when you place your order if you want me to use a different address.

I package your goods in sturdy kraft jewelry boxes which are lovingly surrounded by packing peanuts or bubble wrap and then tucked neatly into a waterproof bubble mailer. I try to set all shipping and handling costs as accurately as possible, I do not believe in charging inflated shipping costs to save on etsy fees.

Items will be sent out via first-class mail 1-5 days after final payment is received, I will update the status of your purchase to shipped when I mail out the goods.

INTERNATIONAL ORDERS - CUSTOMS
Please note any customs, duty fees, or applicable taxes on international purchases are the sole responsibility of the BUYER. Please make yourself aware of customs information including any fees that may be incurred on your end before you finalize your purchase as I do not include them in the quoted shipping price - thanks :)

SHIPPING INSURANCE
In the event that something goes wrong during shipping on an order over $60 I would appreciate your assistance in claiming a refund when an item does go missing or gets damaged - this would consist of a signed affidavit (faxed or mailed) stating non-receipt or damage to the parcel. Your help would be much appreciated :)
Refunds and Exchanges
LOST or DAMAGED GOODS
Shipments that have been lost or damaged in transit will be replaced or refunded. Some items are one of a kind and unfortunately only refunds will be given instead of replacements. For International orders I can only offer a refund instead of a replacement for lost or damaged packages because of the higher shipping costs involved.

In some cases I may request photo evidence or ask you to send the goods back to me (at my cost of course) just so that I can assess what went wrong and how I can improve on it.

RETURN POLICY
I am happy to offer a refund or exchange at your expense in the event that you find you didn't like what you received. You may return the item at your expense for a refund (original and return shipping will not be refunded) or exchange, as long as the item is in the same original condition you received it in.

Return Process:
1. Please communicate with me within 5 days of receiving item
2. Please ship the item back to me within 10 days.
3. Postage on returned and replacement items are at your expense.

If you have any questions about our policies, dont hesitate to convo me :)
Additional policies and FAQs
Please note that I do add your email address to our mailing list so that we can send you any sale, coupon or shop updates, feel free to unsubscribe at anytime. I do NOT however sell or distribute your email address to anyone else because that is not very nice is it.
