CardsbyMormorJan

I started CardsbyMormorjan in January 2013 inspired by friends who also sell on Etsy. My artwork has been popular in local shops and Art Exhibitions where I live and I wondered if a wider audience would enjoy them. I feel honoured to think that my original art might hang in your home to lighten up your special space and bring you happiness

I live in the UK with my artist husband who has been inspirational in helping me develop as an artist. Together we share a wonderful journey of discovery in art. We show at local Art Exhibitons and while he teaches at art clubs locally I am a member and help run two art clubs.

I have always loved flowers and birds. As a child I used to explore the hedgerows looking for birds' eggs in their nests. Remembering never to touch them! I started out inspired to paint single flowers in watercolour and my interest has grown to include landscape, seascapes, still life, children, portraits, birds, the list goes on.

My daughters have given us six grandsons and one beautiful new granddaughter between them and they all call me Mormor. This is because three of them are half Finnish and that is what Scandinavian children call their maternal grandmothers. The name stuck and I love it! Hence my shop name!
