Shooting my sister's artwork and also myself in the window's reflection.
As a visual artist, I use digital photography to capture the beauty in the ordinary.
I use visual hyperbole in my cityscape photography. Exaggerated colour and intensified contrast serve as beacons, proclaiming something wonderful is present in the aging walk-up or common street corner. Whether nostalgic or new, my urban landscapes are infused with the hope that beauty lies in the ordinary.

My name is Carla Dyck. I was born in Flin Flon, Manitoba in 1966 and shortly after moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba where I have lived since that time. I am married and have two adult children.

My partner is a community driven production studio that custom creates high quality wearable garments and accessories printed with artwork. They combine the worlds of art, paper, print, sewing and locally made goods with only the best raw materials to realize artwork on a wide range of mediums.
