Frequently asked questions
Can I return or exchange items that don't fit me?
I do not accept returns or exchanges on items with fit issues. I include detailed garment measurements and an approximate US size on each listing but it is the buyer's responsibility to ensure that the garment will fit their body properly. Please message me with any questions regarding sizing and fit and I am happy to assist you as best I can. Please refer to the FAQ section on how we measure to ensure that you are measuring your items the same way we do.
Care instructions
Vintage items often require more gentle means of cleaning than modern garments. I always recommend hand washing or dry cleaning. Please message me for specific care instructions on an item you have purchased from me or are considering purchasing.
How do you measure your garments?
Garment measurements are taken flat, then doubled. The fabric is pulled somewhat taut but not overly stretched.
*Hip measurements are taken 9" below the natural waistline
Measurement Dictionary
Shoulder to shoulder: measurement from one shoulder seam to the other
Shoulder to waist: measurement from the shoulder seam (near the neck) to the waist seam
Rise: measurement from the waist seam to the crotch seam
Inseam: measurement from the crotch to hem
Outseam: measurement from waist to hem
Sweep: hem circumference
What should I know before making a purchase?
Our shop meticulously inspects all items when photographing and listing the item and again before the final shipment once an item has been purchased. We check to make sure zippers zip, snaps snap, elastic still retains elasticity, and that any issues that come to our attention are brought to your attention in the listing. All of our items are measured by a professional seamstress. It is quite evident in our reviews and longevity on Etsy that our descriptions of our items and our measurements are accurate. That being said, we WILL NOT offer exchanges, returns, or refunds under any circumstances.
But what if I try it on, and I mess it up?
We do our very best to mention any and all issues, but we are human and some items may have minor flaws that may go unnoticed. Vintage has been worn and loved for many years and was often handmade. Keep in mind you are not buying a new piece and you are not buying from a multi-million-dollar corporation. You are buying from a small, independent business who is trying to simply keep vintage alive and keep it sustainable for generations to come. Once it has arrived at your door, and it is in your hands, it is yours. We are not responsible for any issues resulting from your handling of the item once you have received it. Ask questions before you buy!
What do you want me as a buyer to know?
If you have any questions or concerns, need additional pictures or information, or want us to check anything PRIOR TO PURCHASE, we will be glad to do so. Just message us! Thank you for your support and your part in keeping vintage in loving hands.
Do you offer holds or lay-a-way?
We DO NOT offer holds or reserves. We do, however, offer lay-a-way. Here are our updated policies:
Lay-a-ways are available on individual items that are $100 or more.
A non-refundable 50% deposit is required at time of transaction.
Remaining 50% balance must be paid in full by day 30. On day 31, the item will be listed for sale again and the initial deposit will not be refunded.
Each lay-a-way transaction will include a storage fee (10% of item's listing price) that will be added in full to the down payment.
A customer can only have one lay-a-way occurring at a time.
