About

I do my best to see beauty in everything, even the mundane.

My Beginning:
I was given a chance at Stillwater Screenprinting and Embroidery as a Graphic Designer, even though I had no degree. I began designing t-shirts and realised what an oportunity there was to be had in doing that. Years passed and I still hadn't pursued that thought any farther and then myself and Kristen (another artist at SSPE), owner of Orange Armadillo Apparel Company, decided we wanted to sell shirts during the home OSU football games and I officially made Carlie J Design real and we began this journey, with our new businesses, together! (I had an etsy account under that title and did photography, film, drawings and paintings under the title but it wasn't official and I definitely never shared or promoted my work). September 2016 is when Carlie J Design become real. I sold shirts during OSU football games behind The Garage and set up on Zeta's lawn for OSU Walkaround (Homecoming)! After that I did a couple of trade shows/craft shows and slowly have been doing more. Now I have this blog, an Etsy shop, a YouTube channel, amateur photography and videography all operating under Carlie J Design and I cannot wait to see where this all goes!

Vision. Showing beauty. Inspiring imagination. Sharing passion. Experiencing culture. Creating art that invokes feeling and is not just visually appealing.

Experience. It isn’t just skills that will get me places. I am constantly trying to perfect what I have learned and expand that knowledge further. A few experiences I have learned from: art gallery display, designing and creating a real-sized teepee, working for a t-shirt printing company, working with the professors of an art department, moving and living in a new country on my own, starting my own business.

Philosophy. I can always improve and that is what I strive to do - learn something new, achieve a new goal. I never want to become stagnant or obsolete.

Uniqueness. I aim to create art that means something - shares something with the world. It isn’t enough to just be talented.

I do my best to see beauty in everything, even the mundane.

Harmonious. Humanitarian. Hippie.
I was born in Oklahoma City and grew up in Stillwater, OK and attended several Universities (Northern Oklahoma College, College of the Ozarks, and University of Surrey) but haven't managed to get the graduating thing down yet. I do have a certificate in Digital Media Arts and another in Floral Design. I have a passion for traveling and seeing as much of the world as possible - glimpsing history, experiencing cultures, exploring the world, and meeting people. I have a heart for making sure all the orphans of the world are loved, and saving the earth (hence getting married on Earth Day).

Designer. Dreamer. Dancer.
Carlie enjoys designing fun tees, traveling the world, reading good books, hiking new and old trails, swimming with mermaids, camping as often as possible, dreaming with unicorns, floating in the clouds, and reliving her dance-life past time whenever the chance arises.

Mens, unisex, womens sizing?

All adult and youth clothing I sell is unisex sizing. All of it (not youth) is retail fit. Unisex and men's are used interchangeably in the industry. If you prefer bulky fit or women's fit, let me know. Some items I do already offer women's fit options and when that is the case it is indicated.
