Pottery was part of my everyday life growing up. My mom collected dozens of tea pots, drank wine out of ceramic goblets with friends, potted house plants in lovely crocks and cooked wonderful meals with her favourite casserole dishes and dutch oven. I now have some of her collection in my kitchen and my daughters are playing with the porcelain tea set that my mom played with as a child.

When my husband and I bought our first house, my collection and love of pottery grew, so it only made sense that when the possibility of taking a pottery course was presented to me, I jumped at the chance to learn. While on maternity leave with my oldest daughter, I enrolled in a clay program, fell in love and I have created with clay ever since.

I work out of my home studio that my husband has helped me build. Whenever I have a free moment I try to escape to my studio where I sink my hands into the clay. Some of my work can be inspired by a simple daisy which was my moms favourite flower and I love the romantic and feminine feel that my work exudes. Most of my pieces will have some reminder of my moms garden, whether a beautiful floral inspired necklace or a soft daisy imprint on the base of a mug handle.

My wish is that my pottery will be enjoyed amongst families and friends and some day will be handed down to new generations with wonderful memories of times spent together.
