Thank you for stopping by and having a look around. I hope you find something that you love and would like in your home. If you would like to talk about a custom project, please feel welcomed to message me to see what we can create together.

Come On In

Come in and have a look around. I’m Sandy Enness, the owner and designer of all that you see in the Carol-Alice Wreath Studio.

I made my first wreath when I was 14 years-old by cutting down my mother’s grapevine long after the grapes had been picked for making jelly. I sat at our picnic table in the backyard, in the cold of November in Michigan, and wove more than a dozen wreaths from that single plant. Though my hands were all cut and scraped from the effort, it left me proud and satisfied at what I had created.

I grew up in mid-Michigan in an artistic and crafty family. Some sewed, some crocheted, some made jewelry, some were woodworkers, and some artists. I was an artist, creating drawings and paintings, with dreams of becoming a commercial artist. I really wanted to work for Hallmark designing greeting cards.

Soon came marriage and children (and now a grandchild). I crafted with my kids, starting them out by making construction paper decorations for holidays, and moving on to bigger craft projects as they got older. Along the way, a few wreaths were made, too. My husband, by the by, is no slouch when it comes to power tools and woodworking. Props to him for some lovely pieces in our home as well as my wreathmaking stand.

While recovering from surgery, I stumbled upon some Facebook Live streams of people showing how to make beautiful grapevine and pine-based wreaths for the upcoming holidays. This was wreathmaking at an entirely different level and I wanted to be doing that! So after getting the all-clear from my doctor, I dove back into the wonderful world of creative wreathmaking.

Since it was my mother who encouraged and supported all my and my sibling’s artistic endeavors, I thought it was most appropriate to name my shop after her – Carol-Alice Wreath Studio. My mother’s first name was actually Karel (a Prussian spelling pronounced Carol) and her middle name was Alice. All through her life, so many people stumbled over reading her name, I took a little liberty with it in naming this shop. I think she’d be cool with it.

My made-to-order wreaths are crafted in mid-Michigan, not too far from where those first wreaths were woven at the picnic table. Supporting my small business is greatly appreciated and I encourage you to support as many small businesses as you can.

I will be donating a portion of my sales each quarter to a local or national charity. This quarter, Beagle Freedom Project, will be the recipient of the donation. The try to rescue as many Beagles as possible from research centers to use these sweet dogs for experimentation in the name of research..

Thank you for stopping by and having a look around. I hope you find something that you love and would like in your home. If you would like to talk about a custom project, please feel welcomed to message me to see what we can create together.

For my mom… "Give her a reward of her labors, and let her works praise her at the city gates." – Proverbs 31:31

Frequently asked questions

Sizing details

The size of each item is stated in the product description.

Care instructions

When you receive your wreath, you will more than likely have to fluff out and arrange the bow/ribbon (it’s wire ribbon so easy to rearrange) to your liking as they often get a little disheveled during the shipping process. Wreaths can be displayed outside in a protected/covered area, away from the direct elements, rain, wind or direct sunlight. Do not display them where they will receive direct sunlight as the heat can cause the color of the florals and ribbons to fade over time.

Gift wrapping and packaging

I currently do not gift wrap; however, I will include a special note of your wording to the recipient of your gifted wreath.

Wholesale availability

I do not sell products via wholesale.

Custom and personalized orders

Custom orders are welcome and MUST submit a 50% deposit before construction of your special project will begin. Custom orders always take additional time (up to 7 days). I will keep you apprised of the timeline at all times

All communications regarding your custom order must be communicated through personal Etsy message, otherwise you will receive what was displayed in the photo example.

No refunds on custom order deposits or full purchase price once product is ordered should you decide to cancel your custom order for any reason.

Is Your Shop Smoke-Free and/or Pet-Free?

My shop is smoke-free. My shop is home to wonderful furry hounds.

Where can I hang my wreath?

This wreath can be placed indoors at your entryway or foyer for a happy greeting to your family and friends or anywhere in your home or office to bring a smile to your face. It can be placed outside on your front door for a memorable first impression or hang it on the wall of your porch to add to your outdoor decor.

NOTE: If the wreath is placed outside, be sure to secure the wreath tightly so that the wind does not blow it off to places unknown, and PLEASE make sure to hang it where it will be out of direct sunlight and the elements (rain, snow, etc.) that can cause damage to the florals and ribbon. A covered porch is the best location for hanging the wreath outdoors.

What if my order is damaged in shipping?

Please contact me to let me know about the damage within 24 hours from receipt of the package. DO NOT THROW AWAY THE BOX.

Photos are required to file a claim for the damage.

Take photos of the box showing the damage of the box, as well as photos showing the damage to the product. Send these photos within 24 hours of receipt of the package to info@carolalicewreaths.com

If you fail to submit the claim and photos within 24 hours of receipt of the package, your claim is void.
