Here's a glimpse of me being me

As I write this, I'm sitting in my favorite chair in my patio. It has a barkcloth cushion that I snagged from a thrift store over on San Fernando Road for only 5 bucks brand new. It's on a Smith & Hawken chair that I bought on a Friday from a yard sale on Andover Rd that caught my attention while driving home from work. An entire $1,000 4-piece set for only 40 bucks! I picked up the whole set later that day with my middle son who used his strong physique to put them into his big truck.
My laptop, that my beautiful children surprised me with on Mother's day 2014, is, appropriately, on my lap, as I'm kicking back with my dirty bare feet up on the giant Smith & Hawken coffee table that turns into my office most mornings.
I'm enjoying being spoiled by the gorgeous, outdoor-friendly weather of Southern California while listening to the soothing sounds of the water fountain that saved my sanity when I found it at The Discovery Thrift Shop in October of 2014 while I was the full time caregiver for my mother, Ilse.
Smoldering wild white sage is wafting through the air with it's sweet fragrance. This was the first harvest from a tiny plant that I found in my side yard while pulling weeds one day, then transplanted to the other side yard where it grew for 2 years before producing an abundance of smudge-worthy stalks with tiny clusters of pale yellow flowers.
I just spit out the pit of a Chalkidiki olive from Trader Joe's. They're pretty good; this is the first time I've had them. They go very well with the swiss cheese and the multigrain crackers topped with quinoa pesto that I served to myself on the plate from a set of USA made Cafe Royal Fransiscanware that was a steal from the Goodwill thrift store cause they must not have known that it's a collectors item.
A nice breeze just passed by to play music on the highly tuned, handmade wind chimes that I bought years and years ago at The Psychic Eye Bookstore that used to be over on Olive Ave.
The happy-looking bird of paradise flowers from my youngest son's front yard are arranged in a large urn vase from my mother's collection and gracing the patio with their brilliant orange petals and periwinkle spikes.
Well, I'm almost done freshening up my oldest son's work shorts in the dryer (cause I forgot all about them while telling you a little bit about myself).
