About

{ Turning a hobby into a dream }

As a first anniversary gift, I surprised my husband Ryan with a custom ink drawing of our first home together. A perfect little 80 year old brick Tudor in Memphis, Tennessee. Since paper is the traditional first anniversary gift, it only seemed appropriate. He absolutely loved it and started showing it off to everyone we knew. After that, I began to have friends and family ask me for custom drawings of their own homes, as well as gifts for others. I have really enjoyed taking their photos (even from across the country) and turning them into simple, classic heirlooms to be treasured for years to come. I decided to open my Etsy shop in early 2013 to make it easier for my family and friends to purchase from me, but a couple of years later I decided to turn this gig into my day job. I have loved the experience since and can't believe I get to spend my days (and sometimes nights) sketching such beautiful and sentimental locations. While discussing shop names with my husband for only a few minutes, I thought of "Carolina Cabin". We love the western North Carolina mountains, were married there, and dream to one day have a Carolina cabin of our own. The name felt right, and we went with it! At the time we were in Memphis, so it was a bit of wishful thinking, but now that we live in North Carolina, our name holds even more of a special meaning.

Let's turn your home into a work of art and a precious family heirloom that can be treasured for generations to come.
