Handmade with love and care - beautiful gemstone jewellery handcrafted in Staffordshire, England
Hello, my name is Carolyn and I am the designer, maker and photographer of Carolyn Anne Jewellery. My jewellery is created by hand using different techniques and skills, such as wire wrapping. Each piece is lovingly handcrafted in my little studio based in Staffordshire, England (with my cute little assistant, Bumble).
My jewellery making journey started when I moved from Essex to Staffordshire and after renovating my house to a home and finding a new job, I needed an outlet for my creativity and so began my love for jewellery making.
I am self-taught and my innate desire to do everything perfectly combined with the intricacy of wire wrapping fits my personality perfectly and means that my jewellery is made to a very high standard. I love every minute I'm sitting in my studio creating beautiful pieces, the world just slips away. It's definitely my happy place. I set up my business in 2018 after just two months of making and haven't looked back since.
My jewellery is set around precious and semi-precious gemstones and I only use high-quality materials, which I source from the UK and Europe and occasionally from the USA and India. I only use high-grade 14k Gold-filled, 14k Rose Gold-filled, Argentium and Sterling Silver components.
It's very important to me that my customers are made to feel special when receiving their Carolyn Anne Jewellery, and a huge part of that experience is gorgeous packaging. All my jewellery comes in beautiful, eco-friendly packaging with gorgeous eucalyptus printed tissue paper and a hessian bow for that extra special touch.

Care instructions
Carolyn Anne Jewellery is delicate therefore it's important to care for your jewellery to keep it looking it's best for longer.
Here are some suggestions:
- Avoid direct contact with perfume, creams and oils as they can damage your jewellery over time.
- It is always recommended to remove your jewellery before sleeping, engaging in active sports, including swimming in the sea or swimming pool.
- Use a soft, lint-free cloth to restore your sterling silver, gold filled or rose gold filled jewellery to its original shine.
What is 14k gold/rose gold filled? Why is it different to plated?
14k Gold and Rose Gold filled comprises of a solid brass core over which gold is mechanically bonded using heat and pressure.
The difference between gold filled and gold plated is the amount of gold used over the brass core. Gold filled items must contain 5% or 1/20 of gold by weight. Plated items usually contain a microscopic amount of gold, which means the gold layer can peel or flake very easily exposing the brass core underneath. Gold filled on the other hand contains 100x more gold and so will not peel or flake and will last for years.
Although tarnishing can occur with 14k gold filled, it is very rare and may take many years before it is noticeable. Therefore, the best way to prevent this is by taking care of your jewellery.
