I snagged this rosey jewel to add my 'wedding ring' stack. The faceting was such a beautiful idea for this teardrop shaped beauty.

About

Upcycled Jewelry by Carpe Diem Alch

Hello, my name is Mariela. I am the owner/designer & Jewelry maker behind CDA.

I have been making jewelry since early 2015. I specialize in making electroformed jewelry but I am also slowly gravitating into casting succulent molds in sand.
(To be announced)

Electroforming is a metal forming process that forms copper parts through electrodeposition. It let's me recycle/upcycle & repurpose 100% copper finds! Anything from copper wire, copper pipes, copper bolts, copper spoons, plates, sheets etc. pretty much anything that is made with 100% copper!

If you have any request on stones and custom orders. Feel free to email me or message me here on etsy & I will see what I can do for you.

Thank you for supporting handmade.

Frequently asked questions

Care instructions

Copper jewelry is very special & may patina on it's own.

With proper care you can keep your ring as dark & as shinny as you'd like.

*If you'd like to keep it shiny. A polished pad & proper storage will do the trick.

*If you love the oxidized look just let nature take control & watch your ring take a darker shade with every wear.

A patina is used to darken the copper to get a more earthy raw look.

Depending on how the piece was polished, each piece varies in it's own color. Some pieces might be darker/lighter then others.

For other FAQ scroll down to read more info on copper jewelry.

Gift wrapping and packaging

If the item you have purchased is to give as a gift please message me at the time of checkout so that I can gift wrap your piece for you before sending it out.

Sizing details

US sizes may vary due to the electroforming process, please allow for variations.

Please be certain of your ring size before purchasing. Due to the electroforming process a ring that does not fit can not be re sized & will have to be made again from start to finish.
Thank You

Why Is My Finger Turning Green?

Don't worry turning green is one of the lux. of wearing copper jewelry!

Copper is the oldest metal ore, People who are deficient in copper may benefit from wearing copper jewelry, since it can be absorbed through the skin therefor rubbing on your skin and turning your finger green.

The greening on your skin can be easily removed by rubbing some warm water and soap.

I no longer seal my jewelry with any jewelry sealer, wax or lacquer.
If you would like to prevent your finger from turning green a quick DIY trick is to seal the rim of your ring with clear nail polish or a lacquer from any of your local craft store.

How Can I Clean My Jewelry From Home?

Cleaning your jewelry with home products is fun and simple here are a few options to clean your copper jewelry at home.

1.) Combine equal parts of lemon juice and baking soda to form a paste and rub the paste on your jewelry. Rinse with warm water & dry thoroughly.

2.) Rinse the piece off with water and dry it thoroughly with a polishing cloth. (sunshine polishing pad from rio works best!)

3.) Rub your jewelry with a small amount of ketchup or tomato juice. Rinse well and dry with a polishing cloth.

Always remember to dry your pieces thoroughly & store them in a jewelry pouch to prolong your gems.
