Through my hands, into yours

I make work that values process and brings natural texture into your home. Handmade ceramics naturally slow our pace, and allow us to enjoy the beauty in everyday moments.

Influences include archaeological finds, body movement, decaying surfaces, and ceramics of the wider Asia region.

I work slowly. Often I dig and process my own clays (a laborious but satisfying process). Works are hand-built, using techniques much slower than mass-throwing on a wheel.

Feeling deeply connected to the objects around us often comes from a connection to the maker and the making itself. All of my hand-built pieces preserve evidence of the human hand. Pressed, pinched, or carved.

Frequently asked questions
Care instructions

All of my works are mid or high fire stoneware or porcelain. Stoneware is more chip resistant than earthenware as it is fired at higher temperatures.

The best way to preserve the life of your ceramics is washing them by hand with care (particularly those with finer details).

- Avoid sudden temperature changes (eg. do not pour boiling water directly onto cool ceramics)
- Wet cloths should not be used on very hot dishes
- Should be completely cooled before washing or wetting
- Should not be placed on direct heat
- Take care with small pieces / shapes as they are less hard wearing
