Hi, and thank you for shopping at Carrie's QTs! I started this little business when my son was about 1 1/2 years old. I was inspired by the monogram trend at the time, as well as my passion for beautifully designed fabrics.

When my son graduated from his first mommy and me class, I wanted to give his classmates a fun gift. I thought it would be cute to make each child a custom monogrammed t-shirt in various fabrics. Once complete, I noticed the letters were peeling up from the shirt after a couple of days (luckily I had made them in advance), which compelled me to come up with a solution to reinforce the monograms.

My son had a few articles of clothing that incorporated hand stitching, which I thought was adorable, so I determined that would be the best and cutest way to ensure the letters stayed in place (and has remained my stand-out feature that makes my products so unique and special). After receiving such positive feedback on the shirts, I was motivated to open an Etsy shop and sell them online. I sold them for a few years, but this was long before social media, and I found it challenging and costly to market to a large community cost-effectively. Between that and my need to go back to work full-time, I stopped selling, but I actually kept some of my samples and almost all of my supplies (including lots of fabrics!).

Now working in social media with a lot of young people, I'm surrounding by colleagues with babies, and I thought I'd give my business another shot. I have never lost the passion for this business and am so proud to have created something unique that has really stood the test of time.

By the way, my 'baby' who graduated from mommy and me is now 19 and is in his first year of college at UCSB.
