Hi I'm Rosanna Corrò the person behind Càrte.
I'm a paper artist proposing unique contemporary handmade venetian paper art, marbled paper, notebooks, paper jewelry in Venice Italy
I'm also a happy mum living with my beautiful daughter ...you can see a photo of us proudly showing a unique handmade marbled paper.
My quest is also aimed at proposing unusual and original use of paper, by developing its vast potential.
The Italian word CARTE is important.
It means PAPERS, ARTE means ARTS. That's why I've chosen this name to represent my work.
After graduating in Drama, Art and Music Studies from the University of Bologna I realised that my true passion was for craftwork techniques and everything that concerns creating something, which I have always loved doing.
I especially loved artistic bookbinding and paper marbling techniques, which is why I started working in antique book restoration and then bookbinding in workshops in Venice. I have always sought new methods, colours and combinations to improve my knowledge and skills as an independent, professional artisan.
For a number of years now I have owned a shop in the centre of Venice, one of the most beautiful cities in the world, a splendid, unique masterpiece. This is why I hope that the people who visit my shop after travelling for hundreds of miles will take back with them a piece of this marvelous city created by me.
It is passion that drives my work and the energy I have is the desire to create something by hand.
It is fun to see your ideas take shape in your hands, producing something that is exclusive, and I enjoy surprising people… myself first of all.
In this spirit I have created various collections of paper jewelry and bold, trendy marbled handbags over the years.
I often go back to my first love connected to bookbinding, creating objects with richly contrasting paper in unusual patterns.
Each object is the result of hours of dedicated painstaking work.
My world has always been full of colour, nuances, and shapes created with precision, patience and thoroughly researched techniques.
Maybe some of you had spent an Italian holiday in Venice and had visit my studio next to Rialto bridge.

3 out of 5 starsThis paper has a unique pattern, however I wish the colors had been described in the listing information, as what looks white is actually pink.

My passion for paper started more than ten years ago when I discovered the wonders of marbled paper tecnique. I had the great fortune to study and work with the last grand master of marbled paper in Venice. Since then always new ideas and projects
