These are a few of my favourite things...

The story of my shop has threaded its way all through my childhood, up to the present day as a married woman with a little girl of my own.

My mom and I started collecting teacups when I was young and our tea parties were abundant. My interest in various types of tea and brewing methods grew as I started travelling internationally after high school and I became quite a tea connoisseur. As for candles, well I have loved them in all shapes and sizes since before I could safely light them myself. :) Beeswax came on the scene when my family started keeping bees on our farm and the varied uses for beeswax fascinated me.

Then came our journey down the road to organic, natural living which started shortly after getting married. My husband was incredibly patient as I poured over books and researched on the internet, seeking to purge our household of dangerous chemicals in any form. I was shocked to learn of the high chemical content in my beloved teas, so out they went. Next, my conventional candles had to go. All of them. Goodbye Yankee Candle! But what was I to do without candles and tea? I would have to make them myself. And so, the first seedling of an idea for Carys Organics was born.

In 2013 I started experimenting with tea blending and learning how to make beeswax candles. Neither were as easy as you might think and much trial and a lot of error was involved but I steadily improved. A primary goal was to make my candles naturally scented...while pondering this, the idea of steeping wax in tea and coffee occurred to me, so I ran with it. Then a dear friend went to England and brought me a candle poured into a vintage teacup. That was it! The perfect marriage: candles in teacups and mugs scented with tea and coffee!

As for the teas, lets just say that there were lots of late nights on caffeine kicks involved as I got rather exuberant over taste testing when a blend of favourite ingredients clicked... My first and most challenging tea blend to create was chai. I adore chai and wanted to make my very own recipe. All the failed attempts were worth the end result and it makes me smile when my husband brings me a cup of tea in bed in the mornings and I smell the delicious spices of my own chai blend wafting out of the cup...

Developing my crafting into a business became a serious endeavor after our daughter Carys was born in July, 2013. I wanted to join the ranks of WAHM's and do something I loved, while staying at home. That dream became a reality in October, 2014 as I launched my own website and my Etsy shop.

It is a pleasure to provide beautiful candles and delicious tea to others...my hope is that they will bring a splash of joy into the lives of many.

    ~Why the name Carys Organics?~
My business is named after my daughter. Her name is Welsh (pronounced kar-iss) and means love. So, quite literally, it means "Love Organics"...a fitting title that honors my precious little girl.

Hello and thank you for visiting my shop! If you were here in person I would be handing you a cup of tea about now... :)

Carys Organics was born out of love. Love for tea and candles, love for natural, eco-friendly products and most importantly, love for its namesake, my daughter Carys. I began this business as a creative outlet for things I enjoy, a way to share my journey in organic living, and a means to adventure through life with my family without being tied to a traditional job. The result has been an adventure in itself and it is my hope that Carys Organics will bring as much joy to your home as it has to mine.

If you simply change your mind about a product and would like to return it, we will accept returns for a refund (minus shipping fees) provided items are in new/un-opened condition. Shipping
Orders containing only cards are shipped USPS First Class. All other packages are posted via USPS Priority mail and usually arrive within 2-3 business days.* (At this time, due to the nature of our products we are unable to ship internationally.) While we strive to pack and post orders within 1-3 business days, please bear in mind that we are a small, family run business and there will be times when processing may take slightly longer. If you need your order urgently, please contact us so we can work with you to ensure your products arrive on time.

*Q: Why do we ship Priority Mail? Wouldn't it be cheaper to ship First Class?
A: As our products are either for consumption (tea), fragile (mugs/teacups), or made of beeswax which we don't want exposed to excessive heat during summer, we have deemed it best to ensure your products arrive quickly with limited transit time. Also, Priority Mail includes insurance which could save much heartache if the postal system were to lose or destroy one of your lovely orders from Carys Organics.
