My name is Cassandra. I was born and raised in Oakland, California. I grew up with 3 brothers in a beautiful Victorian near Lake Merritt.
My mother taught me to sing, and dance. It was her dream to become a performing artist.
My Grandfather, who was an amazing gourmet chef, taught me to cook and garden at a very young age.
My Grandmother, who worked for the OUSD for over 20 years, was the crafty one. She taught me to sew, embroider, basket weave, make handmade Christmas decorations, and much much more.
My father, a carpenter, fisherman, and business owner, taught me to turn my talent into a profit.
I was apart of the inaugural class at Oakland School for the Arts. My main emphasis was vocal music, but I also took classes in visual arts, dance, theatre; design and production, and music theory.
I graduated in 2006. It was an amazing experience that I will never forget. ❤
I began this career completely from scratch. I had absolutely no experience in selling anything online, let alone crocheting. I knew I wanted to master the art!
I began teaching myself with help from video tutorials online. This all started when I moved to Oklahoma in 2010. With my husband always working, and no friends, I had A LOT of time on my hands. It's been almost 11 years since then. I've come a long way.
After realizing that my work was good enough to sell, I started up a page on facebook. I was skeptical at first, seeing that I wasn't really drawing anyones attention. My big ticket items were the Mickey and Minnie Mouse beanies. After I posted pictures of those, I began receiving orders left and right.
Paypal was a BIG HELP!! Sending invoices and receiving payments have never been so easy. After a month or so, I learned about Etsy.
Here I am!
I'm now selling at local craft fairs, and at stores in the Rose District in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
Feel free to take a look at my items. If you have any questions, I'm always here to help!
