Cate Sawers is a writer and designer. Originally from Washington D.C., Cate spent much of her youth in Tanzania, Argentina, Spain, and Zimbabwe. She has also lived in Ecuador, Italy, Lithuania, France, and Scotland.

Cate has always been passionate about expressing her style through jewelry and colorful gemstones. She derives that interest, in part, from her paternal grandfather who designed avant garde jewelry half a century ago. Drawing inspiration as well from her extensive travel abroad, Cate's designs are infused with rich colors and exuberance.

At once sporty and elegant, each piece is made with the best materials available, including 100% silk thread. Cate's jewels are designed with comfort and movement in mind. The knotted silk thread won't pinch your skin or pull out your hair, the way that adjoining beads strung on nylon wire will grab at you. The natural gemstones soothe and cool the skin. All the earrings are designed for extreme comfort and are refreshingly lightweight, letting your earlobes take a break.
