🤔 Why a wool pet bed? 🐑 🐈 🐕 Beside the obvious natural beauty of real wool fleece and the creature comfort it provides your pet...you are helping support an American Small Farm. I purchase wool from individuals who have sheep, not big industrial farms. These sheep are pets themselves. They have names and are loved and cared for throughout their lives. They get sheared once or twice a year. Who doesn't love a summer haircut? The shepherds sell the wool from their beloved pets to help feed and maintain the flock, so you are supporting an actual animal.
Also, wool is biodegradable/compostable. Hopefully, your fleece will last you many years with good care, but, when it does go back into the earth it is a natural process. Unlike acrylics or petroleum-based textiles. I mean, I get the love for the products you can buy at the big box stores. They are cute. But where did they really come from? I can, with certainty, tell you where your fleece came from and let you know that it was made with 100% wool from an American Small Farm. 😊
And for full disclosure I am a bonafide vegetarian who lives with a bunch of obligate carnivores. We all love each other and try to tolerate our lifestyle preferences. I am quite sure they think my diet is unpalatable and often disgusting. You should see some of the looks I get. Like, “How dare you consume that vile thing in my presence!” 😕
While you are here, can I make a proposition.? The term Crazy Cat Lady has never sat well with me. It is just rude to call someone crazy. The other day my vet explained to me his adoration for women who take on the responsibilities of community cats. He called me a Cat Woman and I liked it. Can we do this?....call each other Cat Women/Cat Woman.? Because we are the superheroes that our feline friends need and love. ⭐️

My Friend Jesse
She is why I am here.
I was fortunate enough to find my true companion in life. A friend through thick and thin. I didn't know we were going to be bound together the way we were, but she did. She insisted.
I found Jesse and her siblings in my shed when they were 3 weeks old. Her mother had disappeared. So, I took them in. I raised them and found good homes for her brother and sister. But Jesse stayed with me. She followed me everywhere. She even learned how to turn doorknobs and open doors so she was never left behind. Soon, if she wasn't by my side, I felt incomplete.
She passed away on February 15th, 2010. She spent her last Valentine's Day with me, plus 19 other wonderful years. I still miss her terribly. To honor her memory I started making cat beds. She loved sleeping on my wool sweaters. So, each time I make a cat bed, it is made with love and intention. Something that will last the lifetime of your pet with wishes of good health and happiness. For the love of Jesse. ^,,^
CatsLoveEwe started out with the knowledge that most cats love wool. It is natural. Wool has great properties that I am sure you have heard about. It is easy to clean since dirt sits on the surface of the fiber rather than being absorbed by it, so it needs very little washing. It is flame retardant, which can be extremely helpful if your cat smokes in bed. It is sustainable, sheep are not intensely reared. It is biodegradable, although I hope you pass down any of these products through generations of pets. Wool is a wonderful product. History proves it to be. We have been using it for thousands of years. There is a notable shepherd or two in stories of old. I could go on and on about the benefits and wonders of wool.
The fleeces I use are acquired from small farms around The United States of America. They are family owned and operated farms that have small flocks of sheep, alpacas, llamas, and angora goats and rabbits. When these fleeces arrive at my door I can usually look inside the package and find the name of the animal has been lovingly slipped into the bag to remind me who generously shared their coat to make your pet bed. It is a good feeling to know this benefactor will live to provide many more coats of wool. And you gotta consider, they are probably pretty happy to have had a haircut. Some of their locks are longer than mine.
The method of making rugs and beds is very simple. Hot water, soap, and lady powered friction. It is low impact on the environment. A very natural way of making. They look like skins, but no one died to make them. Nothing was chemically processed. For the life of me, I cannot understand why felting these fleeces is the exception rather than the rule when it comes to fleece rugs
If you have any questions, please just contact me. I will do my best to help guide you through any questions or concerns you may have. Last time I checked the vast majority of people do not know the differences in fiber between a Jacob sheep and an Angora goat and an Angora rabbit. I want you to get the right fit for your family and when someone asks you about your item from CatsLoveEwe, want you to be able to give an educated explanation with pride.

I will be happy to send any message along verbatim, from a short novel to a to & from. You don't want your well-intended gift to arrive only to have the recipient standing at their door marveling in joy & mystery, scratching their heads in wonder: What wonderful, thoughtful, generous person in the whole wide world was kind enough to send this gift to me & my kitty? I must thank them, but who??? =o}
