Like a duck to water...

It all began in 2001 when my daughter and I were invited to a Christmas craft party. The invitation said to bring two packages of polymer clay. I'd never heard of it before, but I picked up a pack that had a dozen or so colors in it. After the party, I had all this clay left over, and had no idea what to do with it...

In comes the internet.

Wow, I was completely blown away with the variety of things that can be done with this clay. Covering wine stems, and making jewelry, and making buttons that you could actually put on clothes and send through the washer and dryer. Needless to say, I was in love.

A year later I started teaching classes, and that went on for about ten years. I turned to wholesale manufacturing of nail art handmade with the clay, and creating memorial keepsakes with the clay. I wrote magazine articles, exhibited at national conventions, had some interviews, and won some awards along the way.

I did a couple years of serving on the board of the International Polymer Clay association, I ventured into beauty shows across the U.S. with my nail art. And I just generally immersed myself in the medium.

18 years later, and I'm still absolutely in love with this medium. There literally are projects after projects that I want to make, and just don't have time for them all. If there is one craft medium that I could recommend that works with EVERY other craft medium out there-- this would be it.
