I examine the relationship between nature and man through layers and textures. I am constantly exploring new ways to express this relationship in acrylic, pastel and mixed media. I intensify the viewing experience with brighter colors, unusual viewpoints and vivid texture, blurring the line between canvas and sculpture.

I have been a practicing artist and instructor for over 25 years. I have participated in numerous local art shows, solo exhibits, group exhibits and juried exhibitions. I have several awards from juried shows my work is in many private collections around the country. I have done a variety of art including children’s book illustration, indoor murals and private commissions.

For subject matter I normally turn towards my favorite inspiration: the coast and wildlife as well people. I work from photographs but I am not a photo realist or photo copier. I either use several photos and pull what strikes me from each or I pull the basic composition from one photo and add my own creative interpretation to it.

I created this Etsy site as a way to sell my smaller format painting, studies, experiments, & reproductions of my larger work. My "formal" website is where I am as an artist today, this site shows the journey!
