About ccritual

On Etsy since 2015

After studying costume design, fashion, insects, and jewelry in New York City, I moved to San Francisco to continue my work in jewelry production. I love to create with my hands. It's a ritual of creativity for me. I hope to inspire my customers with my work and to inspire responsible jewelry production in an industry infamous for the waste that it creates. I believe in quality, sustainability, and great design.

Most of my jewelry is created using a technique called lost wax casting. I carve my pieces out of wax. A mold is then made around the wax model. Once the mold is fired up, the wax melts out, and recycled metal is injected into the mold! I also practice wire wrapping.

Welcome to CC RITUAL!

Creating jewelry and art in any medium involving my hands is the only way I stay sane and my main outlet. I believe in the beauty of human error and the small differences in each piece as they are made one by one, all by hand. Most of the gemstones or crystals I use in my work are raw cut or free form because I admire the differences of each stone and how they naturally make each design one of a kind! I also believe in using the highest quality materials and eco-friendly resources.

Additional policies and FAQs
To maintain quality, all jewelry should be stored properly in a dry environment, out of direct sunlight. Avoid wearing jewelry in water or while exercising or sleeping. Plated jewelry can wear quickly if not properly taken care of. A patina can naturally occur overtime and can be cleaned with a polishing cloth. Base metals can cause "greening" which is a natural reaction to the body's PH levels. Coating the piece with a lacquer can help with this. A brief description of different metal qualities are listed below.

I offer free repairs on any of the pieces you have purchased from me. Free repairs do not include the cost of shipping.

I am always open to custom orders, as long as they stick to a similar aesthetic of one of my designs. For example, I can always adjust necklace lengths, make a necklace from a bracelet design, or vise versa. I can also create a design you might have as long as it utilizes materials I already have in existing designs. I am always happy to collaborate and work with you!

Gold Plate -- a base metal, such as steel or brass, coated in a thin layer of gold. If not properly taken care of, gold plated jewelry can fade.

Gold Vermeil -- sterling silver that has been dipped in at least 14k of gold. It is more affordable compared to gold filled pieces and can be worn by people with sensitive skin. It is quite durable, but can tarnish over long periods of time without proper care.

Gold Fill -- these items are not actually filled with gold. They are made of a base metal, usually brass or copper, covered by a thick sheet of gold. They contain 100+ times the amount of gold used in gold plated items and are super durable and tarnish resistant.

Each of my products will list what kind of metal components they are made of. If you like a design, but would prefer a different metal quality, please message me. Price may vary.
