I'm a high school art teacher, a grad student and an artist. So my days and nights are very busy. But I can't complain because I'm constantly surrounded by inspiration and creativity!
Throughout my education and career as an art teacher, I have experimented with a variety of media, but have always been drawn back to clay. Clay gives me the freedom to create with multiple techniques and play with the combination of functional and sculptural forms. A start most of my pieces by creating an ordinary form on the wheel. Then I add interest through carving, textures, cutting, manipulation, and glazing techniques. To fulfill my master's degree, I am working on a series of hand-built female figures. These women represent my interpretations of the emotions and experiences that woman face within a lifetime. I hope to add more sculpture to my shop over the next year.
Most recently, I have expanded my work to include paper artworks and decor. Over the past year I have been making work to decorate my new home and one day I decided that many other people would enjoy the same type of items. So I've begun selling this work in my shop as well.
Everything in my shop is a handmade piece of art, which showcases my unique aesthetic and creative abilities. I hope you enjoy my work and find excitement in the personality of each piece!
