About cedarfibers

Sales 58
On Etsy since 2013

A process with a passion.

I believe that every piece of fiber has a story to tell, and a story to make. By spinning the fiber into yarn I'm passing this fiber on to you, to help you create a story out of it.

I also enjoy weaving on WWII era Jack Loom; creating bags, scarves, towels and once even a full kilt.

When I spin yarn I start with well carded or combed fiber, either waiting to be dyed or already a beautiful hue.

Each fiber is different, and has a specific yarn it yearns to become. Using my small electric spinning wheel. I get into the rhythm and spin it up 300 yards at a time.
Once the fiber is spun into yarn (or thread in some cases) I transfer it from the spinning wheel bobbin into skeins. Then I finish the fiber by washing it and setting the twist.
After its completely dry I make sure it is balanced and that's that!
