Handmade Porcelain Pottery Inspired by Nature

As a child, I was always playing in the mud and liked to make things. When I was in college, I was actually studying to become a portrait painter and so was studying a variety of painting methods. As part of my college requirements, I took a hand-building class and then later a throwing class for electives and was instantly hooked on clay. After that, I changed my major to wheel throwing ceramics.

My studio work began during college when I worked for a professional, full time potter in the mid 90's, loading kilns, making slip, and mixing glazes. My very first studio and potter's wheel was in the drafty basement of the art gallery, which was part of my pay as a studio assistant.

I mainly work with porcelain, creating a lot of textures and using bright vivid colors. Because of my experience in painting, I tend to use a wide variety of colors and love overlapping glazes to create a painterly effect.

Much of my work is functional wheel thrown pottery, however three years ago I began creating clay jewelry. My jewelry is made by hand and a lot of fun to make.

I am inspired by nature, textures, and ancient cultures and tend to use a lot of old Celtic symbols that remind me of my English and Irish heritage.

If you are in the Denver area, you can find my work in four retail stores: Moondance Botanicals, Isis Books & Gifts, Spiritways Gift Shop, and Quantum Alchemy.

  • Toni

    Owner, Ceramic Artist

I have been throwing on the potter's wheel for about 16 years. I earned my BFA in Ceramics from Metropolitan State College in Denver in 1996. I now work in a small converted garage studio next to my house.

  • Morgan

Morgan is my photographer and my husband. He takes thousands of digital photos of my jewelry and pottery and also some cat pictures.

  • Mortimer

    Studio Assistant

Mortimer is a cat that we trapped and had fixed. He was abandoned by another family in our neighborhood. After he was fixed, he became very tame. He likes to come in the studio to check out what we are doing and often keeps us on our toes!

  • Apollo

Model And Muse For The Potter

This is Apollo, our cat that we rescued from outside. He was the model of the kitten paw stamp that I now use on many items.

Shop policies

Welcome to my shop! I create both wheel thrown ceramics from porcelain and handmade jewelry from porcelain. I use lead free glazes that are food safe and dishwasher/microwave safe. The pottery that I make is considered stoneware because it is fired to 2230 degrees F.

In my handmade jewelry, I use sterling filled wire, sterling silver and copper hooks, and semi-precious stones. I also use wood beads, glass beads, silver/metal beads, and coral. I have been collecting beads for many years.

Buyer satisfaction is Mandatory! If for any reason you are not 100% happy with the jewelry item or pottery you have purchased, please contact me within 5 business days of receiving the item. I will do my best to fix the problem and discuss any exchanges or refunds. For refunds: the same package must be returned by the buyer, and once the item is returned in it's original condition, a refund will be issued.

***In the event that a purchased urn (in this case a MADE to ORDER URN) is too small for the deceased, the payment will be gladly refunded if the buyer meets the following 2 conditions: 1) the buyer will pay for return shipping and 2) the ashes may not have been placed in the urn. (Many states prohibit by law the return of used cremation urns of any type.)***

All my work is packaged very carefully with extreme care. If for any reason a piece arrives damaged, please take a photo of the item and email me the photo for insurance purposes. Also, please return it in the original package it was received in. You'll get a full refund if it is sent back in the original condition. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.
